developing now the men's soccer team at harvard university is apologizing for sexual comments players made about the women's team. last month the school's student newspaper uncovered a 2012 document the men's team called a scouting report. iterated the attractiveness of the women's team recruits and also included lewd comments about them. the university investigation later found the comments were not isolated and continued through the current season. the team has been suspended in an apology yesterday, the men called their behavior inexcusable. new developments in the so- called bridgegate scandal. two former aides to new jersey governor chris christie were accused of helping to intentionally create traffic on the world's busiest bridge. alleged act of political revenge. has done daily reports there's no a verdict in the case. >> reporter: evidently it was a bridge too far for jurors to believe two former aides of

were for a legitimate traffic study. >> i am innocent. >> reporter: the jury took five days to find deputy chief of staff bridget kelly and former port authority official bill baroni guilty of seven charges ranging from conspiracy and fraud to civil rights violations. christie has been accused of no wrongdoing, but four witnesses testified he was aware of the closures at the time. which he denies. christie w donald trump's transition teams said in a statement, let me be clear once again. i had no knowledge prior to or during these lane realignments. but during the trial, the governor was a looming presence. the prosecution said the motive for the closures was political revenge by punishing a city in new jersey with crippling traffic jams. after its mayor refused to enjoy christie. prosecutor paul fishman explained again why christie was not also on trial.

and up into the northwestern corner of the state spreading down towards aspen and then up high 11,000 feet still some snow going on. still have winter weather advisory for the san juans through tonight. and some isolated spots above 11,000 feet. just to underclothes to a foot of snow. out of the moisture that came through just not much making it into northern colorado. here is the guy doing it, upper- level low spinning right into the state. we even had a couple thunderstorms blossoming as it moved into southern colorado. have thunderstorms down there. some of those storms are delivering a half inch to up to an inch of rainfall if you can believe that. so there is some really good rain for some folks. just not here in the northern part of colorado. above that there's still a big jesting pushing up into canada so we still have high-pressure around here and embedded under that jet stream there's a little front coming into california washington and

in campaign 2016 the most expensive measure on the colorado ballot this year is amendment 72. phillip morris has spent more than $16 million to fight that amendment. political specialist shaun boyd gives the ads for and against a reality check. >> reporter: amendment 72 calls for raising taxes on tobacco. by $315 million a year. as you might expect many health groups think it's great, cigarette companieso let's start with opponents. who include former chief judge of the tenth judicial district. >> it's a $350 million tax that locks spending programs in our constitution. where it can be changed without yet another vote of the people. even in the case of waste or fraud. and many of the spending programs haven't even been created yet. >> reporter: not exactly. here's what you need to know. amendment 72 like many ballot

or repeal it is to put it on the ballot again. but it's misleading to suggest there's no oversight of the money. the state allocates the funds as grants meaning researchers apply for the money through a competitive bidding process in the state -- they can suspend if there's waste, fraud or abuse. the type of research is broadly defined but it is true, the exact research projects have not been identified because again, researchers have to apply for the money. now let's look at supporters claims. >> they know increasing the cigarette tax is proven to prevent kids from smoking. saving thousands of lives. that's why voting yes on 72 is supported by children's hospital colorado, and over 100 colorado community groups. >> reporter: that's true. national institutes of health looked at dozens of studies on youth and smoking and the majority found when prices increased fewer kids smoke and those that did smoked less. there are many studies showing smoking can eventually tell you which is why so many health

not a blank check as opponents have claimed. while the exact projects are not identified, the type of research is. while cementing this in the constitution could result in money going to things that may not be priorities in the future, it is likely the only way to assure the legislature doesn't use the money for something else. i'm shaun boyd, that's reality check. november is national adoption awareness month. today five adoptive families from across the state recognized at the governor's mansion. last year there were 829 adoptions in colorado. the gonzalez family adopted five siblings they previously fostered. they had no intention of adopting but they see the kids complete their family and now they are encouraging other coloradans to considering fostering and adopting the many children hoping for a family. >> if you have any thoughts of adopting, you should look into it and do it.
