>> if you didn't set your clock it's 7 not 8:00 because we ended daylight saving time last night. around here we have a great looking morning out there. it's partly clouty and we have got 36 in erie and englewood 43 on button. larry out there check this out this is interesting. we have a low pressure area over colorado. we have rain coming up south to north across the eastern plains along the kansas line out here. and then it wrap western side of the state where we have clouds socking in that area and a little rain and very high mountain snow on the peaks they have snow and in the front range we are under a dry slot. so we have mostly clear skies going on around here. so, interesting shot there. now as far as the forecast goes for today, we are going to be mostly sunny during the day for us. there's a shot of purgatory resort where they had snow kick up as well.

to your local polling center and drop it in and make sure it is dropped in. >> earlier saturday night a protester caused a security scare at a donald trump rally in nevada. while hillary clinton rallied with a pop star. mark albert has the latest. >> reporter: secret service agents quickly rushed donald trump off the stage in reno nevada saturday night after someone yelled gun while a protester approach the stage. a man was taken into custody and escorted out of the building but no weapon was >> somebody yelled something about a gun. >> reporter: right. >> and so that's where things got out of hand. i mean people were just you know kicking me and you know grabbing my arms and twisting them and finally i am thankful for the law enforcement who was able to quickly come. >> reporter: trump returned to the stage and thanked the secret service. and his supporters who helped bring the suspect down. >> you are amazing. thank you fellas. i saw what you were doing. that's a tough group of people right here. thank you. >> reporter: and another scare

news for a live national election coverage until 10:00 and that's followed by cbs4 news at 10. a church in jefferson county is picking up the pieces after a pas pastor says someone opened fire -- pastor says someone opened fire inside the church. andrea flores reports the criminal caused thousands of dollars in damage. >> reporter: chapel in the hills is a small nondenominational church of about 70 members in the coal creek canyon and what's supposed to be a sacrate space for the community was gunned down in the middle night. >> i never seen a church with bullet holes in it before. >> reporter: a broken baby jesus was just one of the devastating images senior pastor todd fletcher found after he says someone broke into his chapel in the hills church thursday night. >> yeah. it was very aggressive and felt like more than a robbery. felt like something else was behind it. >> reporter: vandals shot multiple rounds into windows and walls and even a nursery before taking off.

and welcome back to cbs 4 morning news. it's 10 after 7. 11 after 7 did you see that. 42 degrees a gorgeous shot looking west at our beautifulmountains. make the hills are alive this morning -- maybe the news are alive this morning. two studies say those who bike regularly to work or for fun are less likely to can provide protection. and research finds not getting enough sleep may cause people to eat more than the next day. doctors in the uk looked at 11 previous studies and found sleep deprived people consumed on average an extra 385 calories the following day. with most of those calories coming from higher fat and lower protein foods. and researchers at massachusetts general hospital say smoking significantly

and moisture wraps around the low into the west and we had a little snow in the san juan mountains close to telluride once again this morning. here's the low now you can see it on the bigger picture with moisture coming up. once this guy moves out, we will have clearing skies later tonight and into monday. but then a cold front is just kind of knocking on the door out here in california. this is going to swoop through on monday and drop our temperatures just a little bit. i don't think we will see much in the way of moisture wi rain west of the continental divide but here in the east as it swoops through it is a drying wind and we will have mostly clear skies to start the week tomorrow the way things are looking. not the another moisture maker in sight. so here we are with the futurecast. we will get rains along the kansas line during the day but that's about it from moisture a little rain and high mountain snow going on in the central portion of the state. and fort collins to pueblo will

the person is and that's unfortunate because it's the weekend you know. kids are coming back and all different states and they need to know they are safe. >> reporter: melissa garcia cbs4 news. new developments in the case of two men accused of starting a wild fire in boulder county. 28-year-old jimmy suggs and 26- year-old zachary cookendahl played guilty to charges of arson. authorities say the two men from alabama were camping in nederland in july and campfire that's -- extinguish the campfire that's how it started. it burned 8 homes and more than 500 acres. an update on a wild fire burning in southern colorado. the junkins fire is now 100% contained. it broke out on october 17th near west cliff and custer county. investigators say a downed power line sparked the flames which went onto burn more than 18,000 acres, 9 the homes and 17 other structures were

and the continental divide and out to the western slope and rain and snow left over this morning in telluride as the moisture wraps around the big upper-level low churning into colorado. this thing is not in the main jet stream so it's taking its time on moving through. but once it does we will clear out tonight. and opening the door for a cold front to come through which is now into california. but if you look under the front it had rain here as it came onshore and it is really drying out once it hits the through here on monday it will drop temperatures somewhat maybe produce a few sprinkle of rain but it will be dry for us and so we are looking at another dry week ahead. futurecast now as we go through the day, there's the clouds hanging in out east. we will be clear to partly cloudy over denver and might still pick up a few sprinkles of rain and very high mountain snow in the high country during the course of the day. and then later tonight, everything starts to clear on out of here.
