a storm system over colorado over the weekend moving through the midwest, no longer influencing our weather, so we'll see a lot of sunshine today. 9:00 a.m. temperature, 50. by noon, 61. and then a high temperature tody of 63. still above normal for this time of year. coming up, we'll check the 5-day forecast and see if we can squeeze out precipitation this week. that's straight ahead. let's check traffic. >> keep in mind this morning , you may need the sunglasses where you didn't last week because the sun is going to come up an this is i-25 and arapahoe road. nice and wide open. they're doing ongoing construction work as you can see through there. nothing is going to slow you down this morning. we're seeing slowing in some patches, but again that's wide spread across the denver-metro area at this time of day break. you can have 1 car that drives a little slower through there and they're the only car on the road, so the road censor data returns that slower than normal. >> joel, thank you so much. breaking news from the political world. the first

reno for years. but she was recognized for enforcing civil rights ander efforts to regulate violence on tv. her can dad manor brought her fans who appreciated her -- at 6-foot 2, she had a no nonsense style that made her a target for saturday night live where she made an appearance with will farrell. reno department two years when she noticed her handshaking and was diagnosed with parkinson's disease. she continued her work and became an inspiration for other patients managing the disease. she returned home in florida in 2001 and launched a campaign driving around in her signature red pickup. >> i love this thing and i care so much about it. >> she lost in a close primary race the next year and retreat to a quieter life.

later this morning. black has another national league team when with san diego. the padres from 2007 to 2015. he was named manager of the year back in 2010, but failed to reach the postseason. black is going to replace walt wies. an investigation is underway to determine how a colorado avalanche player died at home. merit lived in lone tree with his wife and children. he had a couple avs. avs general manager said he was a tremendous person, a talented hockey player and a great teammate. our deepest sympathy to his wife and children and his entire children. the broncos went to oakland and tied for thirst and they return in third place in the afc west. it wasn't pretty for them. the raiders were up 6-0 when derek carr handed the ball

line for the score. there it is in slow motion. it put -- trevor siemian and the broncos tried to make a couple back. he made a 36-yard touchdown, but the broncos get sloppy and they let this getaway. after this trip to the black hole, they look forward to the rematch in january. mark haas got reaction from players who are happy about the defeat. >>reporter: broncos came -- they leave in third place trailing the raiders and the chiefs. and they leave with a list of causes to correct. on defense, another slow start giving up more points in the first quarter.

fort collins, cooler in larimer county. it's 34 north of the state line in laramie, wyoming. here's where we'll be later on today. 60s for most areas in the eastern plains. a few 70s in southern colorado. most mountain towns in the low 40s and 50s and 60s in grand junction. we'll see sunny skies state wide. there are a few clouds in the mountain this morning. partly cloudy in a few hours, but for the most the weather system that gripped our state is to the east of us impacting states like nebraska all the way through kansas and north texas where they're dealing with rain in the dallas area. for us, high pressure will dominate all week long. this week is going to be similar to last week. perhaps not quite as warm, but still we have no chances for rain anytime soon unfortunately. today's highs 63 with sunshine. tomorrow, 65 for election day.
