markers there on the ground. and police obviously still on scene here tonight. this is under a block from 16th street mall. according to a spokesperson for the department, this started about 2:00 this afternoon. several people, police couldn't say how many, started fighting and at some point, someone opened fire. two men were shot. one of them died from his injuries. the other is now in the hospital. when police got here, witnesses told them two people ran from the area and hopped bus. >> two individuals who are possiblily involved in the situation boarded an rtd bus. officers located the bus and stopped it at the 1700 block of chama street and removerred the people from the bus without incident. >> reporter: now, according to police, those two people are only detains now. no arrests have been made. police said they were not looking for any other suspect ins the area.

romney among latinos. 88 pecuniary of republicans backed him. the supreme court likely a big moe motivator. trump's headquarters in denver became the subject of vandals again. they spray painted no all over the building. no one had reported it to the police. the building at 18th and clarkson was hit twice last week, one suspect was arrested in connection to one of those im prompted student walk-outs at two of the boulder high schools. copter 4 shows us the scene at boulder high. students carrying signs an even some with mexican flags. we saw the same thing in cities all over the country. check out berkeley, california. hubs of students from different high schools there joined together in protest. cbs4's rick sallinger joining us live from noel unit art school in denver's montbello neighborhood.

the nasdaq jumped 57 and the s&p, 23. and a reminder you can find all the election results across colorado using a link that you will find on cbsdenver.com. new developments in a shooting investigation that left a police officer injured and two men dead. started yesterday morning with a shoot on delmar circle in aurora. one man died there. then later, police found the suspect at a home on east 46th avenue in denver. one officer was shot before e suspect was killed. our jennifer brice live at the university of colorado hospital. and the officer shot is recovering tomorrow. >> reporter: aurora police's chief drove home the point that this could easily have a very different outcome. that bullet is lodged inside his face. now, we also learned the suspect's child was in the cross fire of the bullet's

father. >> reporter: police say the shooting began at an apartment complex off of delmar in aurora where the suspect shot and killed antonio norwood. officers watched him walk outside with his infant daughter. >> he was carrying an infant that we believe to be his child in a carrier. he loaded the carrier into the vehicle. >> reporter: police say that is then the suspect reached for a handgufi two aurora cops were still inside their cars and the denver officer standing outside in uniform. all three returned fire killing the suspect. >> the directional fire was at specifically at him. and, they were aware it could go into the vehicle. >> reporter: the baby is okay. during the gunfire, an aurora officer was shot in the face while inside his car. chief metz shows us that wound. >> right up by his nose.

strike again. the fbi calls the armed men dangerous. they hit the key bank on south colorado in denver yesterday morning. our tom mustin live there now. we know this is a busy location. and this was mid-morning. >> reporter: jim, it happened in broad daylight with school in session. right? just a few feet away right next to the play. the fbi says the men walked inside the building. roughed up the employees and disappeared with the cash. tonight, agents say finding these brazen bandits is priority. c.j. larken spoke for her fellow neighbors after a violent robbery at the key bank near her denver home. >> that is very scary. >> reporter: surveillance video from monday morning shows a gold dodge intreped pulling in. two people come out of the car and enter the billing with guns drawn. the men jump over the counter

think they were going to get out of this robbery alive. >> reporter: debra sherman with the fbi says the bandits may have truck before and their terrifying assault has agents concerned. >> the men were very violent. very dangerous. they real held people hostage. threatened their lives. >> reporter: the bank is located right next to the most precious blood catholic school. larken says children and families were just a few feet away. >> that is so scary. a lot of people are that is particularly concerning. >> reporter: sheman says a third man drove the get away car. with no leads and the brazen suspects still on the run, larken believes the bandits will strike again. >> if they were going do do it this close to a school right off a main drag, i think that is really worrisome. >> reporter: now, the fbi really doesn't have a lot to go on and the race of the suspects

that is how dry it has been out here. but you know that. we have a cold front draped over the eastern seaboard. showers all the way down to the coastal area into texas. but look at all of this high pressure. got into the 70s today. but, this time of year, it is tough to keep the 70s around. let's go to lauren whitney in the colorado weather center. >> for people wanning it to feel like fall, this cold front in the pacific northwest, it will cruise down our ahead of it tomorrow, it will get a little windy. tomorrow evening, tomorrow afternoon, you will see the winds pick up. as we head into the evening hours and overnight into friday, the cold front heads through and it will knock our temperatures down. some areas may only be in the 50s as we head toward friday. it will cool off for us just a bit. and if you are wondering about moisture, it will still be a lilt l while headed our way. we head toward november 16. these are long range models we are looking at headed toward the end of the week, next
