statement about the recount calling it absurd and an expensive political stunt that undermines wisconsin's election process. we are live at the white house tonight. jim, back to you. >> thanks very much weijia jiang. and we do continue to follow that breaking news on cbs4 at 6:30. a colorado state trooper died today as he was investigating a wreck on i-25. investigators say trooper cody donahue, an 11 year veteran of the force, a father of two, was hit by a commercial truck at 2:00 p.m. since we have been on the hair this hour, they released this photo of him. a truck hit the trooper. deputies have taken the driver into custody. and do expect to file charges against him tonight. as for the traffic situation, all northbound lanes of the interstate still closed between tomo road and plum creek parkway. this is a live look at the interstate from larkspur, you can see the traffic northbound is barely moving as it gets

any new developments. students and the school principal raised concerns about a bus driver in the weeks before he was involved in the crash that killed six children. this is the news across america at 6:30. johnthony walker facing charges of vehicular homicide in last week's crash in chattanooga, tennessee. now, according to school district records releases today, students complained about walker's driving. one said he would stop the bus so suddenly the kids hit their video of the bus leaving campus saying the driver was going too fast. both of those complaints came weeks before that deadly wreck. and, there is a nationwide search for two women who kidnapped a california mother. 34-year-old sherri papini flagged down a driver yesterday. at the time, she was bound with restraints. she had been missing longer than three weeks. now, police are trying to figure out who took her and

through. that really begin to change things up. especially for the high country. great news for them. winter storm watches out from 6:00 p.m. saturday to midnight on sunday. from north to south. up in the mountain areas. could get 10 to 20 inches of snow. some areas a little more than that. let's take a look at the way it plays out. i rolled it up to saturday at 5:00. there it is. nothing goes on. now, you start to see the clouds come in from the south and the snow move in from the west. we have the snow going at the plains but we see maybe a rain shower push on through, sunday morning, maybe into sunday afternoon. what about game time? well, here it is. 7:00, game is underway. we have clear to partly cloudy skies. the snow continues at the higher elevations. and that continues right on into monday. as we get on into monday at 2:00. you see this snow, and more snow on the way. great news for the mountains and the ski areas. downtown, 63 and 64 today. should be at 48 degrees.

county. there you see cody don donahue. he was investigating a crash scene when she was hit by a commercial truck. that truck driver is in custody and expected to be charged. northbound i-25 is closed between toma road and plum creek boulevard for the investigation. tonight, friends will gather to remember a teenager killed in a crash. and support the family of another high school student accident. that starts our reporter brief. >> reporter: i'm jamie leary at windsor high school where the community is remembering the life of 19-year-old kyle nakas who was killed by a drunk driver and his friend, 16-year- old nash rider who was critically injured. the two were driving back from a concert thursday morning at 3:00 a.m. then they were struck head on by a wrongway drunk driver.

his injuries were considered minor. kyle was pronounced dead at the scene and nash's injuries are life threatening. we are hearing from the man who helped so many in this apartment complex, saw there was a fire and a man standing this. he got them out and called 911. he tried to put out the fire while the other man ran away. able to warn neighbors. get them out of the building and control the fire before the fire department arrived. some are calling him a hero, but he says he was j doing his job as a good neighbor. ed is back, we will almost be into december. >> that's right. we will be nice tomorrow, then cold. 62 tomorrow. well above the normal high of 48. then 53 on sunday. game time should be okay. monday, we are cooler still at
