investigation. it's a story we first told you about yesterday evening. neighbors discovered someone had died when they went looking for a stolen truck. police and sheriff's deputies closed off 59th street trail between 32nd and 33rd avenues yesterday afternoon. that's east of vinton and north of shellsburg. kcrg-tv9's forrest saunders joins us from that area this morning. forrest, what's the latest? an iowa state patrol trooper confirmed to us this it is a death investigation. but we have no further information on a victim or any arrests. we did speak with three neighbors, who claimed to have discovered a body while looking for a stolen truck. one of them told tv-9, his vehicle was taken before 4 a-m yesterday. the man said they searched for the truck for hours. he said when they finally found

it and prepared to haul it back home, they made another discovery. there appeared to be blood on the ground. " 11:58 found the truck this morning, about 11:40, we found the blood trail and walked up on a dead lady. " " 11:04 we saw a blood trail and followed it up and found the gal dead and she was face down. very devastating, very devastating. " police say 25-year old adacia chambers faces second-degree murder charges. they suspect she was under the influence when she rammed her vehicle into a crowd of spectators gathered for the parade. her attorney says she wasn't drunk and suffers from mental illness. clayton unty auditor dennis freitag will have to defend his job today. he's been working from home as he cares for his wife pam who needs around the clock attention for the final stages of lupus. clayton county supervisors said freitag has fallen so far behind that it will soon impact the county government's ability to function. so the supervisors sent a letter to freitag's home saying he needs to appear at a meeting this afternoon to answer questions under oaah. that meeting starts at two and we'll have the outcome

and six. university of iowa leaders are asking 30-thousand students to tell them how the school is doing with sexual assault awareness. a survey on campus starts today. the online survey is called "speak out iowa." the goal is to learn from students about their experiences with sexual assault and their thoughts on the resources the university provides. it's optional for students to take, and their responses will be anonymous. the u-i will release results in the spring. the waterloo school district will talk about expanding technical courses and building a career center tonight at its board meeting. the waterloo- cedar falls courier reports all high school students could take classes in the new center that would be built south of central middle school. the district would also renovate both east and west high schools. the 47 million dollar recommendation is from a high school reform committee. if leaders approve it, the district would ask for money through a bond issue referendum. tonight's board meeting is at 6 at the education

service center. the davenport school board will likely decide this evening whether it will close a school with declining enrollment. superintendent art tate poposed closing j-b young school in august. he said enrollment at the school is below 60 percent of the building's capacity. tate says it would save the district about 2- million dollars in salaries and elimiate the need for 11 million dollars in upgrades. hundreds of people showed their support for 11-year-old chase aeschliman in west union. he had a stroke after a football injury in august. as kcrg-tv nine's brea love shows us, people throughout fayette county are behind him as he recovers.
