sanders enjoyed some momentum at the beginning of his campaign. but can he recapture that in time for the iowa caucuses in 7 weeks? tv-nine's brea love reports. statistical tie. cruz has 28 percent to trump's 26 percent. t there is a 4-poot-5 percent margin of error. florida senator marco rubio is third at 13 percent and retired neurosurgeon ben carson is fourth at 10 percent. after that, the field falls off f quickly. former florida governor jeb bush and kentucky senator rand paul received 5%. no one after that was higher than two percent. the fox poll now marks the 3rd straight poll of iowa republicans where cruz came out on top. before that, trump and carson had been either first or second in iowa polls going back to august. on fridid, trump attacked cruz on energy policy during his campaign stop at the state fairgrounds in des moines. trump told c-n-n that cruz's lead in iowa will be short-lived. he also said that people should vote for him over cruz because he says he's more capable of being a leader. moines in union county. 37-year-old jerry didiinger now is charged with 2 counts of first- degree murder. the iowa division of criminal investigation found the body of loretta dillinger in a pond near lorimor last week. investigigors believe she was the suspect's ex- sister-in-law. they also found another body saturday - this time near a house in thayer. cedar rapids police took one person into custody after a stand-off nene taylor elementary school. police responded to a person barricaded inside at a home at 538 eighth street southwest around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. officersad their weapons visible and had closed off at least 3 blocks near the home. police y the person walked out at around 7:30. in dubuque, police say someone damaged portions of the dubuque veterans memorial plaza on schmitt island. police believe a vehicle drove into the memorial sometime between 7:00 saturday night and 1:00 sunday afternoon. the damage includes one bench

it's getting the finishing touches. for the last few weeks, crews have been wrappipi up work on green square in cedar rapids. the two million dollar renovation started back in june. kcrg-tv9's forrest saunders is live in green square. forrest what's left before officialslscan call this project complete? landscaping will be one of the final steps, which won't likely happen until spring. that's when officials will have the ribbon cutting for this project. even so, the big basics are finished. the park was created 172 years ago. it was originally knono as green square park, but now is called just green square. this is the first major renovation in 32 years. the big features, a water feature that's a bit more than just a fountain. a new statue. and new design that clears a path from the city's library and museum. in order to make that happen, the city removed

the jury will begin deliberations today for the first officer charged in the death of freddie gray. william porter has pleaded not guilty to manslaughtht and other charges. andrew spencer shows us what will go into the jury's decision. prosecutors argue officer william porter ignored pleas for help because the he did not care about freddie gray's lifefe "the prosecution has presented evidence that went far beyond what the public expected, and that's what makes their case very strong."over the last two weeks, they've also argued porter went against department policy by not securing gray properly in the back of a baltimore police transport van. porter's defense has said the opposite: arguing standard
