thanks to all of you for coming. excuse me. the streets are closed for blocks around. i'm dying. i've had a -- i've had a cough for like 19 days now. here, let me cough on you guys. excuse me. this is so unprofessional. i really apologize. especially on "star wars" night should not be e ppening. this is a very special night in our neighborhood. you can see all the storm troopers flooding the street tonight. the world premiere of "star wars: the force awakens." the stars are starting to arrive. i saw chewbacca at dry bar this afternoon getting a blowout. his hair was perfect. it's crazy out there. let's go live now totoollywood boululard where guillermo is -- oh, look. [ cheers and applause ] guillermo is dressed as r dos d

[ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: unless you've been living under a rock you know "star wars" comes out everywhere on friday although they've been running a big ad campaign under rocks. so even those people who live under them know about it. "star wars" is everywhere. they're predicting the film could gross more than $2 billion. to put that in perspective, the united states just promised $800 million as part of the paris agreement to fight climate change. which means we're spending more
10:39 pm
wars," as we are to save the actual world. fans have been camped outside for weeks. to see the first screening of the film. they're saying it could be the biggest and worst-smelling hollywood premiere of alaltime. imagine 300 "star wars" fans who haven't bathed in days crammed into a windowless theater. this is why darth vader breathes through a filter. he's got colonge in there. between black friday and "star wars" we could set the record for most americans to sleep on the sidewa over a three-week period ever this year. the product tie-ins arar unprpredented. for instance, these are "star wars" apples. i don't know what makes them "star wars" apples other than they have "star wars" on the bag. but they are. these are "star wars" these are "star wars" cheez-its. this is "star wars" soup. this is what darth vader would make when he had luke for the weekend. this is "star wars" gogurt. it glows in the dark? does this glow in the dark? it would make for a terrifying
10:40 pm
middle of the night. they even have "star wars" coffee mate, a limited edition of coffee mate. it's like "star wars" meets starbucks. what is with -- it's crazy. does anyone even eat in the "star wars" movies? in six movies, i think yoda once ate a beef stick and jaba the hut t ate a frog. that's about it. "star wars" apples. kids really are dumb, that's the message there. sorry, i didn't realize there were kids in the audience. one of thehetars of "the force awakens," his face was on go gurt, the great actor oscar isaac is with us. [ cheers and applause ] the most famous ballerina in all the land, misty copeland is here with us. [ cheers and applause ] from jeff lynne's elo. on wednesday night, donald trump is going to be here. today donald trump as promised released a statement from his doctor about his health.
10:41 pm
and what do you know. they did. this is the statement that was released today from dr. harold bornstein. to whom it may concernrni have been the personal physician for donald trump, blah, blah, blah. please report t has no significant mental problems. he said trump's "physical strength and stamina" are extraordinary. and his blood pressure is "astonishingly excellent." and he finishes by saying, if elected mr. trump i could state unequivocally, mr. trump will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency. how can he say that? has he examined all the other presidents? this is like a medical evaluation of kim jong-un. there you go, even donald trump's health is better than everyone else's. you know, in iowa donald trump is now -- now trails ted cruz by 10 points. but he still leads in the new national poll. these two, ted cruz d donald trump, have been going back and fofoh. ted crcr has so far been careful not to say anything about donald
10:42 pm
but some audio was released last week of cruz questioning trump's judgment at a private fund raiser. donald did not like e at and on "fox news sunday" he said ted cruz acts like a little bit of a maniac. if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black and then demanding to see his birth certificate, i don't know what is. trump was on a lot of the shows this weekend. he`sat down with chris wallace, he defended his plan to ban muslims from entering the country and cleared some things up. >> you say this is going to be tempmpary until we figure e t in your words, quote, what the hell is going on? >> it's temporary. they've got to help us -- >> you call our leaders in washington losers. >> i didn't say losers, i said they're stupid. >> okay. >> okay? >> jimmy: glad he cleared that up. diplomacy is about nuance, really. today was the busiest day of the year for the u.s. postal service. remember them? today's the day you walk in the post office and they go, well, well, well. look who's back.
10:43 pm
we'll get right on that. the post offe is expected to ship about 600 million pieces of mail today alone. they ship an estimated 15.5 billion pieces of mail over the holidays. mail men work very hard this time of year delivering cards anancatalogs. 99% of which we throw out immediately. when you think about it, being a mailman is like being a garbage man, except instead of taking the trash away, , u're bringing it to the houses. one truck really should just follow the other. delivering mail over the holidays is hard enough. this is what a mailman in cape cod had to deal with. wild turkeys following him around his route. what is there, like five? >> every day. every day. >> jimmy: things have gotten so bad, he had to go out and purchase a turkey stick to protect himself. it's like a thanksgiving nightmare, it really is. they do seem eager to help.
10:44 pm

10:46 pm
want to keep that it way. go f fm this to this. with the phone sling. get yours on hand and you'll see. now your phone is totally drop-proof with so many hands-free options. >> you want to keep your face warm put you don't want to raise your heaeang bill. now the face blanket with a breathing hole, keeps your face totally warm and lets you breathe outse air while saving on heating costs and camping outside. [ cheers and applause ] not only is that a big deal you're the first female african-american principal dancer. [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: and you've inspired many, many young girls to get into ballet dancing. and on top of it really brought a lot of attention to the art form, which was really kind of fading? is it true, is it correct to say you've saved ballet? >> i would not say that. you can say that.

guillermo and i saved ballet, in any way when we danced with you back in brooklyn? >> something l)ke that. or scared it. >> jimmy: were we better or worse than you thought we re going to be dancing-wise? >> a combination. you know, guillermo's commitment was -- interesti. >> jimmy: yes. your natural physique, which i've told you, really surprised me. >> jimmy: in a good way? >> in a good way. >> jimmy: yes, yes. >> all the dancers at abt who watched the segment, they were so impressed with your legs. >> really? see that, guillermo, everyone was impressed with my legs. >> guillermo: can i tell her something? you don't have to lito him, you can come back to the show any time. [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: he's been working on that one since october. we have a clip. let's look at what we did together. >> w wre going to start with the very first step that the swans

five, six, seven, eight -- you have to momo so he doesn't crush you. i'm extremely nervous about this performance for them. my hope is that they don't fall and hurt themselves. okay, i don't think we're going to get any farther with h at stuff. >> i think we're ready to dance. >> guillermo: i think i'm ready for dinner. [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: so we finished witita big dance number. and i have to tell you, when we did dance and all of a sudden it went from funny to me being nervous, i was nervous i was going to trample one of the dancers. does that ppen? are there accidents? i know there are injuries. are there collisions and whatnot? >> yeah, i mean, that's the amazing thing about live theater. is that you're going to ge whatever is happeneng in the momeme. and whatever the audience is feeding you, you're going to react to that as well. but yes.
11:23 pm
>> i've been a part of it many times and i've seen it happen. i think it's one o omy favorite things about live theater is seeing those things happen. >> jimmy: is there one in particular that stands out to you? >> yes. there was one moment in the ballet, human variatatns, a george ballanchine, made for american ballet theater, you would know. >> jimmy: you don't have to tell me, yes. >> i was with another soloist couple, we were doing these turns towards each other, me and another girl. we were dipped by our partners and our tiaras got stuck together. we literally had to be pulled apart. we were center stage. and the principal couple was coming forward. we were like, oh my god, oh my god! >> jimmy: like elk fighting in the woods, wow. that's pretty crazy. and does the audience laugh? or do people get angry?? >> i don't know if they realized what was going on. you try your best to make it look graceful and like it's supposed to be happening. you just keep a smile on your

>> jimmy: are you graceful in everything? brushing your teeth? is it just a beautiful thing? >> no, no. i'm very clumsy i would say. jimmy: you are veryrylumsy, really? >> yeah. >> jimmy: are you very flexible, though, yes? >> yeah, that too. maybe that's why i'm so clumsy. >> jimmy: is that natural? or is that something -- is it a combination of working on it too? >> it's a combination. i think that's why ballet was so easy for me is that my body was very loose and flexible. and i think i must have been about 7 years old when i realized how flexible i was. i remember i woke up -- i'd never danced before. i had no training. i woke up one morning stretching my arms. and they went all the way over. i was holding my hands. i remember thinking, what just happened? i woke my mom up, look what i can do, look what i can do? she's like, that's weird. then that was that. >> jimmy: this is like howow spider-man got started. >> years later i think being a

flexible shoulders helps. >> jimmy: can you still do that thing? >>'ve never done it before -- yes, i can still do it. >> jimmy: you can, okay. will you do it? [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: wow. that's good. [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: who knew that would come in handy? do you feel like you would be great at any kind of dancing? like were you involved in ballroom dancing or some other kind? >> i was always really drawn to music and movement. i don't know if i would have been this natural at every time -- type of movement. but i think thth athletics just run in my family.. like we're all pretty natural with movement and athletics. like my cavs, all of the copelands have them. we call them the copeland calves. >> jimmy: thank goodness for thehe copeland calves.s. you're doing a limited run
