tonight is in rmany. e dramatic days, the culmination of 14 months of negotiations, mostly in switzerland, u.s. officials calling the discussions very intense and until a few weeks ago no one knene how it would end up. not included in 9 prisoner swap was former fbi agent robert levenson, the 67-year-old disappeared in iran in 2007. jonathan karl, abc news, washington. >> but as those americans are now out of iran, three others have gone missing, this time in iraq. u.s. officials say that the three are civilian contractors not part of the military. the ap reports that they were kidnapped from their interpreter's home in baghdad taken to another neighborhood where all communications cut off. so far no group has claimed responsibility. in hawaii conditions are expected to improve today in the waters where teams are looking for 12 missing marines and two helicopters, crews have en fighting waves as high as 30 feet.

the two helicopters crashed during night exercises on thursday, the marine corps has now identified theissing who range in age from 21 to 41 and who come from nine states. two residents from florida are dead after a pair of diddley tornadoes, both came within minutes of each other in the middle of the night. the first picked up the couple's mobile home and smashed it. their son and grandchildren who were visiting were injured. the sheriff says he's amazed that anyone got out of that alive. the winds topped 125 miles an hour. and new yorkers got a preview of winter weather yesterday. just a dusting of snow, but that combined with plunging temperatures was enough to make roads a little slick in some parts. take a look at the radar, why don't you. the entire northeast will see snow squaws and showers today and frigid temperatures, highs today will be in the 20s and possibly in the teens for some parts of new england. and the mercury in washington, d.c. won't rise above freezing at all today. that's the first time it's happened all winter long. got to get jackets if you haven't already.

well, this is a strange sight at newark liberty airport last night. those are passengers walking on the tracks of the airport monorail. a power failure had brought all trains to a standstill. crews arrived to rescue riders and get them safely on buses. service was restored but after two hours.

behind bars accused of operating a pill mill. the dea raided the offices of this doctor, prosecutorsllege that 36 of his patients died while holding prescriptions he had written for them that were controlled substances. autopsies confirmed that 12 of those were overdoses. his attorney says he is innocent and will fight the charges. oil prices are sliding overnight as the industry braces for eve more crude on the market. now that iran's sanctions have been lifted. and thatould make gas station signs like this a common sight. you're reading that right, folks, 47 krintss a gallon in northern michigan. at one point yesterday, other stations there were also below a dollar but the price war won't last. didn't last and then in gas there right now is about $1.50 a gallon. nationally it's $1.90 this morning. moviegoers decided to ride along and see something other than "star wars."

in the central american country belize when she disappeared last week and decided to skip a horseback riding trip and instead go down to the river to practice yoga. her body was found floating in that same river a day later. offs now confirm she was strangled, no one arresesd and was only 39 years old. in michigan there's a growing outrage over the contamination of water in the city of flint. reverend jesse jackson told a sunday congregation there should be tape around the city because it's a crime scene. jackson's comments came a day after president obama signed an emergency declaration to clear the way for federal help. the water became contaminated after flint switched its supply to save money. we've got incredible new video overnight of the latest attempt by a spacex rocket to land, instead of just falling into the ocean but this one didn't go as planned, take a look, the rocket had just ccessfully deployed a satellite but as it was sitting

exploded on impact. it's founder elon musting said one of the leg-locking mechanisms failed perhaps due to ice buildup. a firefighter's helmet camera captured a dramatic rescue that revealed a desperate mother handing her baby through a window to a firefighter on a ladder and climbed out and her husband too. it broke out before dawn trapping them as they slept. one man called the fire department to the rescue. to an incredibly close call for a woman shopping. things are just okay at the grocery store, then, whoa. this was in australia. the force by which that vehicle slammed there is pretty incredible. amazingly no one inside the store was seriously injured. three men inside the car weren't so lucky. they were taken to the hospital, the driver fled and that woman in the purple squirt refused help and walked away. incredibly close. time now for sports and the nfl playoffs.
