isn't the first time a singer has joined clinton in iowa. katy perry endorsed the candidate in october in des moines. on monday, clinton, bernie sanders, as well as martin o'malley, will be in des moines for a town-hall. it starts at 8 o'clock. c-n-n's chris cuomo will moderate the town hall. we will air the entire event on kcrg 9-point-2. in 11 days, voters will crowd aucus locations to support presidential candidates. each of the county parties have spent months preparing. they are training organizers to be ready for all sorts of situations. the caucus coordinator for the johnson county democratic party says parking is going to be a challenge at many sites. "22:26:16 we are giving cab companies and other places a heads up that you could have a very, very busy night so you might want to have some extra ople on hand. people should plan ahead for their caucus night transportation and really set aside most of your evening because the caucus could take a lot of time." the caucus coordinator says

have achieved health goals to earn the blue zone designation. 'wellmark blue cross blue shield' funded that effort until january 2016. now communities and volunteers will take over the project to keep it going. "52:5it has been a fun three years as we have served as a demonstration site for blue zones proving we can make the changes in our community that offer all the opportunity we want to but now it's time for us to do it on our own. " last week, the cedar rapids city council approved the a new wellbeing advisory committee. the group will help with blue zones projects and recommend health options to t council. cedararapids is soon hoping to be labeled as a "certified" community meaning it made health improvements over the last 3 years. an adult advocacy group is pushing for a senior center in cedar rapids. it's the largest city in iowa without one. on monday, linn county supervisors decided any proposals for a new joint public health and child servicesuilding would includud

space for a senior center as an option. "we'll be meeting with county leaders soon and after that we'll determine what the time lines are and what responsibilities the group has... what additional dollars may be needed." bowers says pgrams and services for seniors migrated to other locations after the witwer senior center closed because of the 2008 flood. she thinks the county's interest in a joint building is the best hope to bring a centralized senior center back to life. if you're in dubuque today, you may see something strange floating in the sky. the city and the university of iowa are teaming u uon a project to improve air quality in dubuque. they'll be testing out handheld pollution sensors. the city is considering using the sensors on a regular basis. the dubuque city council is also moving forward on the southwest arterial project.

dubuque technology park on u-s highway 151- 61 with the new dubuque industrial center west. tuesday ight, the council approved the fair market rate for three properties near the western end of the project. the fair market value for the properties totals just less than one and a half million dollars. the city will use this for negotiations with property owners. anyone who owns a drone has less than a month to register the device with the federal aviation administration. new rules require people with drones or between half a pound and 55 pounds to register them online. people who don't register by february 19 could face fines s even jail time if they're caught flying drones. the registration fee is 5 dollars that covers youor three years. dan augspurger flies drones on a commercial basis, for aerial photography. he's also a corporate pilot, so he understands the need for the f-a-a to keep track of drones, because they do pose a threat to manned aircraft. he says registratatn will give the f-a-a a better

idea of how many drones are flying around. it will also let them track drones back to their pilots, if there's ever an accident. augspurger says the new process of going to the f-a-a website is much simpler. "56:52-:57 "first i had to go through the long process of getting an exemption through the faa and then register the drones you have." " the f-a-a says if you operated an aerial drone before december 21st of last year, you need to register before february 19th. if you purchased the drone after december 21st, you must register before you fly. a project to help sick and injured birds of prey is showing signs of success. it's called rare, which stands stands for "raptor adadocacy, rehabilitation, and education". rare formed in late november. it filled a need after the macbride raptor project stopped s bird rehab program. rare leaders say their focus is on birds of prey because the animals are thought of as fierce hunters and often forgotten when it comes to support programs. right now, rare works@out of

the gentle heart pet clinic in iowa city. that's where we find kcrg- tv9's forrest saunders. forrest, in the last month, the group has been very busy? how has the first month been? incredibly busy! : our phones are ringing off the hook and people are people are answering the call to help injured wildlife. on top of the tehab and education, we needed to navigate thrrgh the many steps of getting a new non-profit off the ground. we have a fabulous board of directors and have recently received ourrs status as a 501 3 tax-exempt public charity. our passionate and dedicated team of volunteers, and an amazingly supportive community have made the rare group's beginningo incredible and meaningful. how many raptors have you helped? from late november until today the rare group has admitted 20 birds for edical treatment. most of these birds are raptors, but we will never deny assistance to

tv-9's forrest saunders. thanks a lot. marion fire fighters are impressed with a second grader who helped save lives during a fire at her family's apartment complex. on jaary 8th, fire fighters responded to a call at 5-90 bentley drive in marion. a grease fire damaged an apartment there. but chloe taylor, who lives just three doors down, says she knew w wt to do. she grabbed coats and shoes for her and her 2- year-old brother to get everyone out the door. the marion fire chief presented chloe with a hero award yesterday. chief deb krebill says this shows why it's important fororire fighters to come to schools and go over safety tips with children.
