probably get slick in many areas, especially by the evening commute. tomorrow, plan on a windy, cloudy and chilly day with scattered flurries as well. by wednesday, another weak system will arrive from the northwest with the potential for a quick dusting of snow in the evening. overall, this is not a very cold pattern, but not a warm one either with lots of 20s and 30s anticipated. thanks kaj. a 54-year-old from swisher is dead this morning after a car crash on interstate 80. but the iowa state patrol has not released the person's name. troopers say the crash happened at about 12:50 p-m on sunday in the eastbound lanes of i-80 near the coral ridge mall exit. they say it started when 20 year old kaitlyn richards of coralville rear-ended another vehicle. the impact caused

second vehicle to hit a semi truck. a 25 year-old from illinois was driving that semi. the crash killed the driver of the second vehicle and injured a 59 year old passenger, also from swisher. an ambulance took that person to university of iowa hospitals and clinics. police in des moines are investigating a homicide after finding a woman's body. police were on a welfare check for a woman living at 14-13 pioneer road in des moines at about 4:30 sunday morning -- on the city's southeast side. that's where the found the body of 71-year-old norma mcneeley. police say her death is suspicious in nature. this is the first homicide investigation for des moines police this year. this morning, thousands of people will have to dig themselves out of the snow. the winter storm is over for the most part, but not before causing two dozen deaths. cities have been clearing their streets to get public transit up and running for the morning commute. one economist says the winter storm could cost area businesses up to 850-million dollars in lost revenue. in a tv-9 follow-up this

a group of eastern iowans is back in dubuque after that winter storm left them stranded. family and friends greeted them with signs and hugs as their buses arrived. the five buses were carrying about 200 chaperones and students traveling back from the march for life in washington d-c. their convoy got stuck on the pennsylvania turnpike about 8:20 friday night, for about 24 hours. one volunteer with the dubuque county right to life group described the chaos. "a couple of semis ahead of us had gotten stuck on a hill and were jack knifed, so if that wouldn't have happened we would have easily gotten home. however that stopped us, so being stuck, it just kept snowing and snowing and snowing " that group - along with other iowans on their way home from the march in d-c - held an impromptu mass while they were stuck on the turnpike. "everybody was just singing, no moping, nobody being upset. everybody was just happy where they were and they were

stuck together. " iowans have a week before deciding which presidential candidate they'll support at the caucus. several of those candidates are in iowa to make final appeals to caucus-goers. kcrg-tv9's forrest saunders joins us at the desk this morning forrest, clinton sat down with tv-9 and talked about her agenda? that's right chris and nicole. in a one-on-one interview with tv-9, hillary clinton talked about issues iowans are facing. she had three stops in eastern iowa, yesterday one of them, buford garner elementary school. there, more than five hundred supporters packed in to hear clinton and activist cecile richards. in her interview with tv9 after, clinton told us how she hopes to keep the economy on track. she has plans to raise the minimum wage. provide tax relief for small business and the middle class. plus, invest in clean energy and infrastructur e. 8:33-58 "we want new jobs, and i think the most promising areas are in infrastructure our roads, our bridges, our tunnels, our ports, our rail systems we need to be investing, those are jobs that can't be

tax codes, so that instead of giving incentives to business to export jobs and factories, they bring them back so they're prepared to do advanced manufacturing. i think we have to combat climate change by creating more good jobs and clean renewable energy." clinton says no matter the outcome of caucus night, she'll continue pushing hard for support in new hampshire and the rest of the primary states. in the most recent cbs news/you gov poll hillary clinton is in a statistical tie with bernie sanders in iowa. sanders has 47 percent support, and clinton has 46 with a 5 point 2 margin of chris and nicole? interesting. thank you very much forrest. also on the democratic side, vermont senator bernie sanders also made plenty of visits in sunday stop in fayette, he talked about his plans for education -- with his frequent call for free tuition for students at public colleges and

"young people are leaving school with outrageously high student debt. that will continue to happen unless young people get involved in the political process. " sanders also answered questions on health care, the minimum wage, and expanding social security. he has several stops scheduled in iowa today, including one at iowa state university. all 3 democratic presidential candidates will be in des moines tonight for a town hall. senator sanders, secretary clinton and former maryland governor martin o'malley will be speaking at drake university. democratic caucus-goers will have a chance to ask the presidential hopefuls questions. it starts at 8 o'clock, and you can see it on kcrg 9.2. c-n-n's chris cuomo will moderate that event. on the other side, the republican candidates are in iowa this week to try to set themselves apart. donald trump is stepping up his efforts to connect with iowa's faith-based community. but earlier in the morning, he joined a service at the first presbyterian church in muscatine. religious voters are a highly

group between trump and his rival ted cruz, who is the son of an evangelical preacher. at a rally in muscatine yesterday, 2 thousand one protestor wearing a red turban was thrown out. :25-32 "he wasn't wearing one of those hats was he? was he never will. candidates are trying everything. but some voters may not know exactly how to caucus. the university of northern iowa is hosting an informational session today about how to caucus. participants will learn how the process works and then be in a mock caucus. it starts tonight at 7 in the maucker union ballrooms. classes start today for a course in iowa city about what it is like to be a police officer. the citizen police academy classes start tonight, they are every monday night until graduation in april. the students in the class will learn about a variety of topics like dispatch, crime scene investigation, and the use of force. registration for this academy is already closed. dubuque police say this year they've had a drop in the number people signed up for their citizen academy. police believe the drop in interest has to do with recent cases of mistrust for police. their course doesn't start until february 4th. people on the east coast are going to try to dig out of the snow for the morning commute. 28 people have died because of

reminder of something to look forward to in the summer. ragbrai organizers have announced the 2016 path, which takes more of a southern route. this year's ragbrai starts in glenwood, then makes it way through shenandoah, and creston. here are the overnights as the cyclists will approach eastern iowa. wednesday night in centerville, thursday night in ottumwa, friday night in washington before the riders will dip their tires in the mississippi at muscatine. this route is the third- shortest ride in the event's 44-years. the des moines register says it's about 420 miles. ragbrai 2016 starts on july 23rd. to fit with the winter storms and cold weather, the box office favorite lately is the oscar nominated leonardo dicaprio movie. the revenant is raking in millions in its third week. more on that coming up in today's america's
