investigators say gun was provided to her son, 17 year old dillon wintroth, who faces possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and other charges. 21 year old chase merchant also faces several drug charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to liver. ananher 17 year old fafaes minor charges. police also arrested a sixth person who was present at the time of the arrests on drug charges. a year ago, police responded to merchant's house where they found redlinger shot in the head. federal prosecutors accuse robyn merchant of knowing her son, dillon winterroth, was a drug user and giving him a gun that was used killed redlinger. authorities have ruled the shooting an accident. more than 80 people have used an overflow, emergency shelter system this winter. it's a new process to keep the homeless out of dangerously cold temperatures. this is how it works. representatives from shelters, free meal sites, and waypoint fill beds in three shelters first. once existing shelter beds fill

access argues iowans will benefit from reduced reliance on imported oil. iowa's interstate speed limit could jump from 70 to 75 miles an hour. ste lawmakers passed the first sub committee vote on the idea in the iowa house yesterday. representative gary worthan says the iowa department of transportatio n told him the average speed on iowa interstates is already 72 miles an hour. soo why not just make it 75. that's right they say they want ople to learn more about urban agriculture. and to get the community excited about the place old macdonald farm use to be bever zoo, and attracted tons on people. but, due to regulations most of the exotic animals had to go, and noo people aren't as excited. at a meeting yesterday the department discussed their new thought process. the goal is to bring the people back through new animals, renovations, and programs. parks and rec wilintroduce dozens of new baby farm animals. children and their families will be able to touch, feed, and play with them right inside of the park. and programs will be centered around them, teaching the community those urban agriculture skills. 4:08 "kids can come out and they can learn how to be a farmer for a day, or play with baby farm animals and paint, and make crafts ,and stuff like that. those ideas hopefully to bring the people out to the farm again." corrigan says there are also plans&to redesign the park and make it more accessible from every angle. the farm opens for the season on april 23rd. throughout the spring and summer

like movie nights at the cedar rapids amphitheater, and harvest fest in the fall. chris, nicole? thanks a lot brea. this summer, the u-s army corps of engineers says there should be fewer traffic problems on coralville lake. in recent years, lake- goers have raised concerns about the amount of boat traffic during the summer. so the u-s army corps of engineers is releasing an updated shoreline management plan. it says the plan won't change cuent docks, it will only prevent new docks from going into some areas. the army corps will hold a public meetingngbout this tomorrow at the lake's visitor center starting at 4. iowa's medicaid director says iowa is ready to switch to a privatized system on march 1st. the federal government ordered a two month delay because the state wasn't ready at the beginning of the year. iowa medicaid director mikki stier has addressed the 16 issues the federal centers for medicaid services dentified. they included expanding the

hospitals that will accept medicaid patients. stier also says the state has stepped up communication efforts to answer questions from patients. despite skepticism, stier insists iowa is ready. "do you think it's a good thing that we have had an extra 2 months to sort this thing out?mikki: the state is ready, the state was ready in january, we're more ready now." the state expects the centers for medicaid services to decide soon on whether iowa can move forward with medicaid privatization on march first. this friday is the first funnel for the iowa legislature -- meaning all bills must make ititut of committee to survive. hundreds of people were out at the statehouse yesterday, lobbying for a bill that would not allow minor tuse tanning beds. the house b)ll would ban tanning until the age of 17 - and then require parereal consult until age of 18. lawmakers in support of the bill say tanning is too risky for a person's health.
