toward the sea of japan. the test comes about two weeks after the elusive communist country fired a submarine launched ballistic missile. during that launch, the missile entered japan's air defense identification zone, the first time that's ever happened. this is video from a previous launch. it also comes at a potentially embarrassing time for north korea's only real ally, china. china is currently hosting the group of nations, or g-20 summit. experts say today's missile north. security guards and protestors clashed in north dakota as protests against the bakken oil pipeline turned violent. we stand! wooooo! tribal officials say construction crews destroyed an american indian burial ground and other cultural sites in southern north dakota. dakota access is building the pipeline to ship crude oil from north dakota to illinois, cutting through 18 iowa

authorities protestors hit and jabbed them with fence posts and flag poles during the fight. protestors say they crossed into construction ground and rushed workers. "i wasn't expecting them to mace, it came out of now where. they let the dogs loose on a horse, and they maced a woman in the face, this close range, that's what started it all," say protesters." authorities say four security guards and two guard dogs were hurt. tria pepper sprayed 30 people and dogs bit at least 6 others. no one was arrested. state officials in oklahoma shut down 37 of the state's 32 hundred active disposal wells following saturday morning's earthquake. now officials are trying to determine if the 5 point 6 magnitude quake was man made. several of the larger quakes to hit oklahoma in the past few years are linked to waste water disposal from oil and gas

process, the wells push wastewater deep underground, even deeper than where you'll find oil and gas. now people are cleaning up the earthquake's mess. "mos - 'i see all this and i'm like going oh my gosh - wow i can't believe this' " "laurie banter, supermarket employee:"the whole thing, was just going like this , it was bad." while there was no severe damage or serious injuries reported, oklahoma's governor did declare a state of emergency to help with the clean up process. dubuque police arrested a man tried to kill her before shooting himself. anthony foht faces several charges including attempted murder, second- degree sexual abuse, and first-degree burglary. police say he went to the home of a woman he knew on tuesday, and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. they say she was able to get away when he tried to shoot her and the gun misfired. police say that's when foht shot himself. the hospital released him yesterday and police arrested him.

family homes being turned into multiple unit rental properties. the city council will take up the issue during the meeting set for 7 tomorrow night. water pressure is back to normal in solon following maintenance on the water tower. crews spent most of the last month doing routine work, which also meant decreased water pressure. now you can once again wash your car at home, fill your swimming pool and water your lawn. a cedar rapids man is creating a non profit called is doing it to help the homeless. right now, he's trying to raise about 20 thousand dollars to buy a large truck, like a u-haul. he and other volunteers plan to use that truck to deliver all sorts of things to the homeless, including food, hygiene products and warm clothing. "the goal is to just to help. to figure out where and how we can help and then go there and do it." he would also like to buy a 35 foot r-v sometime next year. he hopes to use it to give the homeless mobile

a tornado in vinton earlier this summer left about 48 families homeless. but it also inspired one church to think about preparing for the next disaster. harvest christian fellowship owns a large parsonage with a mostly-unused upper floor. in our show you care spotlight, kcrg tv nine's dave franzman looks at the work underway to make that space a new temporary place to stay. members of his congregation were some of the first called out in mid july to help with the tornado response.sot/nat it's understandab le since he's also the benton county representativ e for the salvation army. he knows first hand how much it cost find temporary motel housing for all the displaced vinton residents. "we don't exactly how many we had but the motels were full and you're figuring 80 dollars a night so maybe $15,000 for the first week" but after the initial rush pastor bob thought there has to be a better way. and then he thought about his own home...the parsonage next door to the church...and about that upper floor.t/nat with the bles

" it was a wonderful idea. we have empty space, there are other churches...buildi ngs that are empty...we decided we're going to look into other alternatives. " pastor bob says this space certainly wouldn't have housed all the tornado victims. but there is room for probably ten people if you convert beds to cots. but many disasters are smaller...say a local family losing a home to a fire. the first 15-hundred dollars in funding from pastor bob's church, another church and the salvation army was used to create a brand new private entrance to the upper floor. he figures another five thousand dollars will be enough to complete the conversion. "once you've been in a flood, a tornado, a house fire...all of a sudden it becomes real and that's what i was thinking about when effectively." and if enough money comes in, pastor bob and the helpers doing the work figure they could have everything ready in about 30 days. in vinton, dave franzman kcrg tv9 news. pastor bob plans to make a

giant antlers, it looked right in my face and i was just like tripping out because i didn't know what a deer was doing in the water."
