homes, which are made of metal. a medical and dental clinic, church, orphanages and school for about 450 children the organization built in haiti were destroyed or took on major damage.. go-serve global offical says, despite 95% of the homes in the area being wiped away in the hurricane, he's thankful for one thing. "the good news was all of our kids are okay. so we're very grateful that we were able to keep them sheltered in a place where they were protected." the organization say the water towers providing people with clean water were also wiped out. cedar rapids police say your financial info could be at risk next time you use an a-t-m. different area banks and credit unions have seen a recent rise in fraud cases from a-t-m skimmers. the skimming devices often placed on top of the card reader at a-t-ms or other places that take cards. skimmers can give criminals

thinks he was a victim. eugene pinney says thieves likely got his card info at a local gas station. they tried to make a near $200 purchase at a new jersey walmart. pinney's credit union caught the fraud in time. he didn't lose any money, just some confidence in his card. "i'll just be a little more aware. i'll try to use it less. maybe use cash more. " police suggest looking for any unusual or loose attachments on the a-t-m. police also recommend account for any purchases you didn't make. if you do see that an atm has been tampered with, call police immediately. a 20-year-old davenport man is charged with shooting and killing his parents. 20-year-old sean freese is facing 2 counts of first-degree murder. police says they found his parents, kevin and donna freese, shot to death in their home in the on davenport's northwest side overnight wednesday. investigators say sean freese planned the killings, but they didn't discuss his motive.

absentee ballots from linn county this year compared to the presidential election 4 years ago. 4 years ago, voters had requested more than 22,000 ballots to vote absentee by this time. now, the number requested is slightly more than 14,000. that's a drop of more than 8,500 compared to 4 years ago. linn county auditor joel miller says both parties apparently held off longer than 4 years ago to send absentee forms to supporters. that means the numbers should start going back up soon. "i hope it ca have lines at the polling places and we haven't had those in the last several years." auditor miller says the number of people voting absentee at the election office counter is running about the same as 4 years ago. people in marion are getting their first chance today at meeting the 4 candidates vying to become the next police chief. the job opened up when chief harry daugherty retired earlier this

"iowa is one of those states that does fairly well across the board in the three areas we look at." but ruger says the hawkeye state doesn't do well on gun freedoms and private schooling is associated with many regulations.
