nick: february just started dumping and jackson was the place to be. the crew started rolling into town and we're all just shredding pow every day. and there was no place in the states that was firing quite like jackson. - man: like, so what's going on? - nick: oh, you know, just... we're gonna check out how deep this snow is, 'cause it's pretty insane. ( chuckles ) that's legit, right there. to keep the snow from going down.

( laughing ) dylan: trench.

( clicking, whirring ) - man: how's the snow? - man #2: there's not much of any of it. it's just frozen.

n'. - ( clatters ) - ( laughs ) joss: i mean, i'd say for me, standing on top of the sochi podium was one of the most surreal, unforgettable moments of my entire life. i mean, i don't think i'll ever be that happy again. i mean, i'll hopefully get close, but that was kind of my climax for a little bit. when i first got asked if i wanted i did a little bit of research and saw that they had the olympics here in 1984. it happened before i was born so i didn't really know much about it. but from just coming from sochi, i thought it would be a really good experience and i really wanted to go somewhere i've never been before-- somewhere that a contest wouldn't take you to. i knew this was gonna be an opportunity i only had once and thought i had to take it.

i've never been anywhere like this before. getting home from sochi last month, and experiencing the whole olympics and then come here and see what happens to 'em 30 years later-- i mean, it's pretty breathtaking. reporter: in 1984, the olympic city of sarajevo welcomed the world. today, the flame has been doused. joss: you can definitely tell this place is pretty war-struck. i guess, that during the war they would execute people on the podium. and just try to think of what happened. reporter #2: this agreement has not silenced the guns in bosnia. - in fact, the commander... - reporter #3: stadia are in ruins. on the runs where sportsmen trained, they now bury the dead. joss: this was built for the olympics and then it was turned into a military base during the war in 1991. it's just crazy walking through these hotels and like standing on the podium and just trying to imagine what it was like

( cheering ) ( onlookers yelling ) joss!

( bobsledders shouting ) - whoo! - ( cheering ) ( cheering )

( onlookers cheering ) joss: comin' here and going to the podium over up in igman, just standing on it, looking around, you can kinda just imagine what it must have been like when people were receiving their medals d just imagining the place filled with people.

( clicking, whirring ) sage: two nights ago, i don't know what was happening here, but it was a crazy storm and we were driving on this road and then the next thing we know,

i mean, i guess the closest thing i can say was that it must have been some sort of alien encounter. everywhere we looked it was just like, "pshew-pshew!" light and color and then there'd be these tracks. you know, it seems silly now, it all looked so different.
