grassley is going for his seventh term in the u.s. senate. senator grassley and congressman rod blum will campaign together in eastern iowa today. they will visit m-j's restaurant in marion at 11:30. then, they'll be at newton's caf in waterloo at 2:30. senator joni ernst will join them. some people in eastern iowa are getting letters pressuring them to vote, and one couple is not happy about it. the progressive turnout project sent a letter to samuel and election. samuel says they spent that week in the hospital because his wife was in a car accident involving a semi. the couple says they don't like the negative assumption. "i was just upset, and sad that they would be pointing to people not knowing why the vote was missed." the progressive turnout project says the letters aren't meant to make people feel bad, but they do get people to the polls.
