in the final hours before election day, candidates and their supporters fan out to campaign as much as they can. today, family and friends will lay one of the officers killed in the des moines area to rest. fellow law enforceme a family in eastern iowa will soon move into a new home that they helped build since the first block. good monday morning! it's 4:30 on november 7th. here's a live look at the city cam. first, meteorologis t kaj o'mara has your first alert forecast, kaj... plan on a nice monday with highs back into the 60-65 range. the difference between

trump will go to florida, north carolina, pennsylvania, new hampshire, and michigan. those 5 states, combined, have 84 electoral votes. clinton will campaign in pennsylvania, michigan, and north carolina. all are seen as "in play" for election night. both candidates also have surrogates campaigning in these final hours. today, donald trump jr will speak at a rally in ottumwa. that starts at 8 this morning at the bridgeview center. saturday night -- with donald trump holding a 7- point lead over hillary clinton among likely voters in iowa, 46 to 39%. the poll comes from 800 likely iowa voters. digging into the register's poll -- 1/3 of those who responded had already voted. yet among those who have not voted, the poll found trump with a 21-point lead. the same iowa poll also found, in iowa's senate race, incumbent republican chuck grassley holds a 23- point lead

grassley is going for his seventh term in the u.s. senate. senator grassley and congressman rod blum will campaign together in eastern iowa today. they will visit m-j's restaurant in marion at 11:30. then, they'll be at newton's caf in waterloo at 2:30. senator joni ernst will join them. some people in eastern iowa are getting letters pressuring them to vote, and one couple is not happy about it. the progressive turnout project sent a letter to samuel and election. samuel says they spent that week in the hospital because his wife was in a car accident involving a semi. the couple says they don't like the negative assumption. "i was just upset, and sad that they would be pointing to people not knowing why the vote was missed." the progressive turnout project says the letters aren't meant to make people feel bad, but they do get people to the polls.

" i've known him a long time and i don't think i ever heard a sour word out of his mouth. he didn't complain. he was one of those guys who offered a solution and just wasn't a complainer, very supportive."." sergeant beminio was married,

from iowa city west high school in 1996. the other killed in that attack was urbandale officer justin martin. his visitation is today from 4 to 8 p-m at the south calhoun middle school in his hometown of rockwell city. martin's funeral is tuesday at 11:40 a-m. we will also cover that service live on kcrg 9.2 and kcrg.com. governor terry branstad has ordered all flags in iowa to be flown at half staff today and tomorrow. the state fire marshal's office is investigating a fire that destroyed a city building in cedar falls. it happened around 10:45 yesterday morning at a building on east fifth street - near the company viking pump. when firefighters got there... ... they found flames and smoke coming from the building. the city uses the space to store police equipment. the building is a total loss. some iowa landowners are

pipeline, but not because they don't want it running through the state. some claim that crews left behind debris, released cattle from grazing areas, and disrespected their land. the iowa utilities board has received 22 official complaints as of late october, including 10 from landowners. a board spokesman says it is in various stages of investigating the grievances. a dakota access spokeswoman says the company takes its construction commitments seriously. s validated yet. in north dakota, where the pipeline starts, police responded to a demonstration at a cemetery in bismark. protesters are upset the pipeline would run through their ancestor's burial ground. then, another group showed up in support of the project. the rally closed some roads, but police didn't arrest anyone. a family of six will soon move into a home they helped build. laparis owens and michele steffy applied to habitat for humanity last january. in order to get the home, the

worker are remembering the life of a young woman. 26-year-old samantha weber died in the summer kcrg tv9's jordee kalk shows us what her colleagues are doing, in this week's show you care spotlight. samantha weber had a lasting impression on everyone she met. 59:00, "sam is a very loud crazy personality." her coworkers were used to her outspoken behavior. except for one area: 54:06, "the one thing that stood out to us, which we thought was crazy was her love of snow, as soon as october hit she was ready for snow to fly."so this october staff at unity point and allen hospitals collected caps in her honor. they called it the sam

wa says she died early this morning from complications of parkinson's disease. she was one of the clinton administration's most recognizable figures. reno faced criticism for a deadly raid in waco, texas. she also unsuccessful ly ran for florida governor in 2002. a five point oh magnitude earthquake that hit oklahoma has some worried it damaged a key oil hub. officials say the earthquake hit last night around 7:45 centered in cushing, oklahoma. that's northeast of oklahoma city.

as iraqi forces have pushed into more densely populated areas of the city. isis killed at least 20 people yesterday in other parts of iraq. the man charged in the shooting and killings of 9 people at an african american church in south carolina is set to go to trial today. police say in june 2015, dylan roof, targeted the mother emanuel church because of race. the u-s justice department says it will seek the death penalty in the case. roof's lawyers have said he will plead guilty to 33 crimes, obstruction of religion, and firearms charges if prosecutors agree to not seek the death penalty. now for a quick check on your
