a former cedar rapids school bus attendant will spend 11 years in federal prison. tyler konigsmark, who is 20, received the sentence for enticement of minors. he admitted that he had sex with an underage girl earlier this year. he also used his phone to from three girls. a committee that will determine if a book is too racy for a dubuque high school class is holding its first meeting right now. all students. it's assigned to a small group of students who take the advanced placement modern lit class and the teacher gives students an alternative book to read, if they or their parents request it. live in dubuque, katie wiedemann, kcrg-tv9. a space is opening in dubuque that will allow people to get their hands onto all sorts of tools and equipment. will operate inside a building at 1781 white street. and it's thanks to a 50-thousand dollar grant from the iowa economic development authority. members of the creative center will be able to use equipment for woodworking, automotive work, blacksmithing, and music making, among others. to get that access, they'll have to pay 50 dollars per month. the creative center will also offer classes. this morning, 120 workers at

losing their jobs. that's part of about 800 lay-offs by the insurance and investment company nationwide. transamerica will also be closing two offices in california and one in ohio over the course of the next year. the company says the cuts are part of a larger plan to adapt to an "increasingly competitive environment". it says it's helping the laid off workers find new jobs. the kalona creamery shop and soon. the shop has plans to start welcoming customers in mid- december. it will sell cheese curds, specialty cheeses, and meats, along with soup,s salads, and sandwiches. the shop and deli is on the site of the old kalona cheese factory on highway one. middle school students in solon have a special project this holiday season. they're donating hundreds of scarves to children in need. the students knitted 700 scarves altogether. they'll go to second graders

neighborhoods in cedar rapids, waterloo, iowa city, and des moines. the activity was an act of kindness in the memory of the second graders who died in the 2012 sandy hook elementary school shootings in connecticut. a couple of the students told us they enjoy giving back. out to chase some pheasants with rudy and the boss...the boss being kevin hartwig of cedar rapids. we usually come out saturday and monday.... 2 to 3 hours is great for both of us.... rudy and kevin have been a team for a long time. as a matter of fact this is not rudy of our great outdoors reports... you came at 8 months old . he ten years, 6 months now. he just loves it. rudy was mighty raw the first time we saw him but he had the enthusiasm. energy and desire to please that you want in a field dog. now ten years later rudy knows the game inside out you would have thought we would see more today. so dry so
