piece a mozart piece, and i want to introduce our three boys, matthew. he decided to become a pastor. a lot of family members are pastors. and we have here in the middle simeon. he decided to become a musician and pianist. he place the piano six or eight hours a day. i don't know why. [laughter] >> and then we have the middle one gabriel mulder and he decided to become a pizza delivery boy. [laughter] >> and i said welcome to vienna. the boys will perform on the piano a piece by mozart. enjoy it.

children or teenagers or only for older people. it is really for all ages. and that's what i like, a variety of music. and, yeah, it makes people happy. so that's what i like to do with my talent. make people happy with wonderful music. >> you call this program greetings from europe. why did you title it that. >> that's because, you know, i'm dutch. so i travelled a lot in europe. so i really love those cities like paris and london and moscow and vienna. i perform many times there. i love that european feeling so much that i thought maybe it's a good idea to bring that feeling to the american people. so they don't have to travel to europe. i bring the feeling to them. >> i think you have really accomplished that with this

your contribution makes that possible. please make an investment in the arts with your contribution. just call the number on your screen. >> scott sauer back with jan. now jan the first part of the program we had compositions from some of the great masters, mozart and verde but you performed some of your own original compositions. you compose, you arrange, you conduct. you play piano. is there a favorite that you do? >> i think composing is one of my favorites because i have that musical thoughts coming in and active to write them down. and to arrange them for big orchestra and singers and of course the piano. but what i really like, too, is performing on stage. so that makes me really happy. that's what i'm good in. so i like to rehearse with the, all those musicians and singers. most of the time we rehearse

only three hours for a show. and i have to make every, everybody happy. so i have to -- yeah, i like working on stage with an audience, big audience. so the whole -- i love the whole package. >> it really comes together in this program. we're thrilled to be presenting it. i closed that last segment with "america the beautiful". you have talked a little in the program how this song has special meaning for you. >> yes. first of all, we are, our family's very happy that we can work here, that we can live in this beautiful country. and very nice people. so that's very nice. and i have special feelings with this song with "america the beautiful". it is full of emotion. if you see the show you can feel that emotion when we perform the beautiful song and comes to the end and all the, 86 musicians

piano. and it was so nice. the people loved it and wrote letters to the station. and called and that sort of things. so it was a huge success only for two or three christmas songs. >> so for you guys what's it like to perform on stage. >> we love to perform. it is very exciting. you totally concentrate on playing the best you can. and you forget everything else. >> and you are, you practice a long time. so it's always fun if it goes well. and very exciting. >> it pays off. >> that's great. what about when it doesn't go well. what happens with dad. >> it doesn't happen. >> exactly. well, there's a lot more yet to come with the boys. we want to give you that opportunity. of course you can hear their music on the cd and also see it on the dvd. we encourage you to call in, make that contribution. take home those gifts. stay tuned because there's a lot more to come. >> you can't go to every concert
