tops. they are easier for homeless to pop it open and maybe get a way toea ind eat it. we do a lot of support for homeless folks. >> so someone watching says, i think ty c help. i'll call second harvest phone bank. what information do they need? >> we need to know wrehe ar living, the zip code and we can connect them to an agency in their area. >> they fr l of paper work and i'm just hungry. >> right, most agencies just querof address and an i.d. to show you live in our community. that's it. >> that's wonderful. th's an important agency to make such a difference. when children are asking for od a a holiday present and you being able to provide that

>> guess what i have on? maybe i'll be jay orange next year. i'm excited to be back. i love you and your show. thank you for having me. >> absolutely. you are supporting sf. >> i'm from oakland. the raiders were in l.a. i had to support who was there. that was the 9ers. >> so during this time of year, football games -- you are lking about the family, football, food. it's a blessing. what i do as a career, comedy has always been like that since i was young, always wanting to entertain, have a comb or broom in my hand. >> what i didn't say for people not aware is that you have entertainment street. it's your comedy, ministry, and you have a vision for that.

you left the couch for a ten city tour? ten city tour. >> what made you decide to do that? >> growing up, always wanting to entertain the family, it's been a dream of mine to do comedy. as i was able to do my thing, i was able to present myself with almost a venture, faith walk. i didn't have a sponsor. i said i want to put on this tour. i have a vision of putting a gospel, arsenio hall type of show together. so the tour is pushing that toward my way. i went to fairfield, mow dest m, fresno, different cities, san jose, newark -- is there a great

experience? >> i learned a lot about the journey. as far as entertainer street, entertainment and industry, i do clean comedy. being in the cities is funny how you see things in ten different churches. >> is the humor different in different places? >> at the end of the day when you are a ghetto christian, it's universal. >> what is a ghetto christian? >> being a oakland, from thehood, and my dad being a preacher. i couldn't grow up being a nasty comedian, nothing against those comedians doing their thing, but i do the clean stuff. when you offer a container, it's the kfc bucket. when you don't pay your

electricity bill because jesus is the light of the world. i grew up, these are real funny situations, but they are true. i tell people, i don't tell jokes. i tell the truth. the bible says the truth shall set you flee. a lot of people want to laugh, but they don't want to hear the extra. i'm blessed to do what i'm doing full time. this is what i do. been doing it ten years. i love making people laugh. i always tell people, laugh, even if you don't got no teeth in your mouth. if you have two, rub 'em together. the lord doesn't separate them, better together. it looks better together, everything does. >> be grateful for the teeth you have. >> be grateful for your two front teeth.

>> i was thinking for the table, but whatever you want to use it for, it eels your gift. >> i thought it would take you back. you used to have two t.v.'s. you had to go in the room and put the little one on top when the big one broke down. we had to put a pillow case over the top. what? it's broke. trying to disguise it like it's the dresser. >> you know what you have to have. >> what stocking doesn't have socks? >> you have to have church socks. >> i wanted you to be well equipped. you have an ornament for the tree, you have to have a sticky glittery ornament. >> i know every time you pull out something you had an idea of what you would use it for, but this would be for the cadillac.

>> my family treats everyone like jehovah witnesses. hit the floor. everyone is on the chill mode. we really do enjoy the holidays. this is all just bringing back so many memories because our family is so knitted together. my grandmother was like a ghetto brady bunch, 12 kids, six girl and six boys right down the middle. >> she was like the maday ya of north oakland. >> must have been a lot of comedy in that. >> tyler perry was trying to steal my grandmother's act because she was hilarious. that's where i get a lot of comedy from, family. a lot of time people do comedy from story, 'e embellish somethg

they have seen. i'm talking about my tour experience. growing up, there was so much stuff you could talk about and laugh and then laugh with a family oriented crowd that you cannot feel bad about afterwards. >> that's the thing about comedy, so much of it is tasteless. >> i make sure you have a big head, but i make you feel good about it. >> are you saying i have a big head? no, you're beautiful, but i try to bring people up because life in itself is already hard. i want people to come to the shows and feel good leaving. there was a grandmother, long story short that said, thank you. my baby passed away. i was at a funeral. i came to your show and laughed.

i still miss my child, but i feel better because laughter is like medicine. that encouraged me to keep doing what i do. >> i remember when i saw you open for mary, mary. people were ready for the music. you help people. you are at a comedy show and you are looking at a stranger and there is a community. >> i think last time we talked was right after barack obama was elected. there was a lot of excitement. you went into a waffle house to order things. >> at the same time, when president obama got into the office all the african-american community got swagger and come eyed. some honey, that ain't enough biscuits. we are at red lobster ordering more biscuits. we have a black president in the

line. i'm a giver. i don't expect anything. i'm not preaching, but i believe in my faith in god blesses he. what goes around comes around. i try to give as much as i can to people. i know it will come back to me. that's how my career has been. >> i know you mentioned the show. this has been a vision of yours for a while. what else do you want to do? >> my passion is acting. i said people don't know that my first love is acting. i do comedy because i feel it comes natural. it's a gift from god, but i started off at 19 in a theatrical setting where i did a play called mr. jones. six week play, this is called

humanithumility. i had no lines. thethen i ended up playing lead role at the last matinee on sunday. now i have a show called red tails junior and terrence howard. i'm a soldier with no lines. it may be a small part, but coming full circle, i stayed humble on carmen jones. i'll be a soldier having no lines with a rifle like this. >> it was a great experience.
