because on today's program where delighted to have dr damian fan who's the director of the taipei municipal gym floor high school marching band to talk about marching band development in taiwan of ten. hello everyone myost name staying at that time johnny country and the band director of the regional high school marching band and it is my pleasure to come to this program beyond its a pleasant and happy pm programme. telus a little bit about yourself. well um crazy guy in a town an assistant professor at national taiwan university. i teach in the translation and interpretation bracket program. so that's my day job but during weekends i would become a band director. so that's my second hat and my son had used a conference and took her soul that someone i usually do before i started teaching in school or it with damien would have to pee on
11:02 am
the program today because you are the director of the typical high school marching band that's why much i mean how do you all with that in high school marching band in first place. i was a member of the marching band when i was in fact in high school owners sold. i even started to develop an interest in marching band or just simply play music because i don't the piano when i was small but i stop putting it on after inking middle school which is usually the case for a lot of talented students because of the academic load exactly okay um but i was very fortunate to get into gene pool of high school and i found that there was actually a band there and i really wanted to join in so that i actually beat cop became the beginning of my pantry and on our bed instead it says let me answer was the key to the march that i was i was a clarinet player who doesn't keep a ten x so you could cut out with after he joined the silken thought it was a difficult fall
11:03 am
candle to equipment it is actually a little bit difficult because it's good to very different kinds of instruments sauce but i think my foundation in the capital health took a lot ok and my band director was an american the spaghetti braxton. he eventually returned to the united states so he asked me whether or not i would like to take up his back on and become band director in charge of teaching marching band and i agreed because i thought that would be very interesting experience so that was back in two thousand won and it has been thirteen years since of being in this cause its clients it does lack because believe me ask you hope you find the experience is to be different or similar bill being a member of the pandan value in the band director when using windows only a band member to follow orders alone commands either from the bad effect on front on the drum majors or the toxins
11:04 am
but as a band of activists much more to it because you're not going in charge of training the band musically or in terms of marching. you are also responsible if designing the show. that's the case here in taiwan so i have to come up with a program for the teenagers and teach them the program so that they are well prepared before they can perform. i know you manage your time effectively or else you would not be able to wear all these different acts. but it's real shift back onto the marching band itself. tell the audience of all the color of view it's one of the needle necessary elements cool conditions for much of that put sample. so what kinds of instruments to be part of the marching band. no more a summit the quality stadium before being abandoned. i think there are three prerequisites to formulate a marching band the first one is people the second one is fun being
11:05 am
married and the third one is space. the ones most difficult moment typical well i would say currently the most difficult one to me is people in my arm. of course for him than to be able to perform you need on a certain number of members in advance to write so that you can feel the necessary instrumentation because usually in a marching band we are separated into different groups on the first moving between instruments which includes the brass and woodwind grasping for example pope its core and strong bones that comes into books with wings would include foods next cell phones the second section with people took the precaution and there are two parts to the percussion one is the marching percussion which actually marches on the field the snare drums the tender drums bass drops and the second part on consists of insolence that cannot be played while you are welcome
11:06 am
at the march action cannot be carried onto the field. for example in the reading bug dale was the xylophone sort in pain. it's not possible to play these instruments while marching in the third section is what we called the visual ensemble for us in peak with the color guard and they are responsible on. um i mean visual elements of the show still denies that dance or they can do it different kinds of props such as france or rifles. so i think own band members are of course critical tuesday of formulation of the band and i would say that he would need approximately about thirty six to forty on people in between sections so that the bank can sound good and about fifteen people in the precautions that section because they need to be responsible of establishing the rhythmic pulse of music and of course for the color guard of one more the more the merrier unit is yes because we can add different
11:07 am
kinds of elements to the shoulder was the optimal number for the optimal number well i would say as long as they'd and harmoniously into the show on numbers not be a problem. i nodded weekend depending on the show he can have as few as of around six people who probably be can also have as much as twenty people for a band that only has about sixty people in the act itself. so in reading depends on the design of the show already and there you have been the note to the band director for kimball high school since two thousand and one. it is sold since then you've taken the van to a number of different international competitions. and oh what the key international competitions in tears hoping this will enhance his reputation. also licking his tunes the band members being exposed to international competition. how did we know the experience come about
11:08 am
the general high school marching band travels overseas almost every summer sitting back the year ryan new dating back as probably um to nineteen ninety two or something. and i think that has become a tradition for that and that number is sometimes would join the bag simply because they want to have that attitude from overseas. i was in that house nowadays. you know the younger generation have much more opportunities to travel abroad so that is not really that much of an enticement anymore. ok well i think it's still a great experience. think back to god and in the band has really been able to showcase more advertising the will of the school on a round the world so that they know all there is up. i didn't do a country called time on somewhere in east asia and there is a school that has a pretty good marching band so that has been pretty hopeful for a spreading the words for the school. ok the end of
11:09 am
this couple will be the boss of the national competition staging of the band has been to since he took over in two thousand the mall though critically to two thousand thirteen. the old world championships. that tells a whole new look good about that and critically look at the mill that and the representative. the old panda from taiwan. apparently it was made up more than two students functional high school. the love of issues from new elementary schools that meet all the schoolwork that why the idea of having meal but you don't love marching band made of students come to for tapestries and oh so was it difficult to accommodate students from other schools to be a part of this chain wal mart you. the trader to motown kinship for marching show bounce was held in chiba japan nikkei in japan and some of our audience plano has a very strong tradition in that they are very very good so we thought that the composition would be very
11:10 am
fierce. in order to become competitive sometimes our own the bigger the number the more effective. the show with the handgun that this has something to do with the court's downfall of participation in extracurricular activities so that has been suffering from a lack of sufficient people so in order to become competitive and we thought that we might well come on that one verse from other school was okay um actually this was not the first year that we invite its band members from other school was on in the past we have also done this and it seems that we have built a reputation for him for this kind of invitation so. actually there wasn't a lot of difficulties in inviting them they a lot of people were very eager to go into saturday's hike and it was the sole popular that for example even the color guard section how to conduct
11:11 am
an auditioned in order to screen on people and the like of us headed his side the midday meal in the to hold difficult was it for us to connect it to try to motivate and prepares students from different schools to be a part of this competition that the international level that's not easy. telescopes own. four members of the two high school band. they don't really need that much motivation because there are very motivated for the other participants and um i think they are also motivated but the biggest challenge especially at the very beginning is for them to know in no way that we rehearse and they also have to understand that the standard of quality that we are pursuing. so sometimes it's just beyond the imagination and they need some time to adapt to the new band called to ok the end of the whole
11:12 am
process. is it really helps you know the students the actual heist was close to spot other schools to blend in. was that the process that builds when you note to think it was successful. i think it was to some extent the windows out. end of the show you do have to work very closely together you have to really trust each other what's your name what is important that we need to take the first break on the program today would be right back. i knew the evening. ghazi. eye
11:13 am
welcome back to the second statement to police probe and you know that i wanna look up the coast were equal what we'll continue our conversation without this meal came in and who's the director of the taipei municipal chandler high school marching band. and daniel was talking about the international competition in critically ill two thousand thirteen. the world championships and thomas who will bid up of the background that led to defame day you have cake for the two thousand thirteen yo competition held championships which were done deliberately between equality and fraternity while the two pink icing. the show that we prepared for the twenty ten world championships is entitled as he said the libertine equality and fraternity that is actually a

theme that on this very familiar to people around the world and so on the reason that we chose this title was because we played music selections from the musical in his ababa okay i'm done. of course this masterpiece doesn't really need a lot of explanations. it's pretty devoted the last pages into the train to france on aspects of humanity. by examining the french history back to the nineteenth century. i think on these themes of gold. my feeling some what he's seeing them on for the modern audience but it is near universal into are actually a lot of things to ponder. reading is also a very tiny. on any description or a tiny reflection upon the socio political situation in taiwan. another reason is that because on last year on the movie. lynn is a cobbler
11:15 am
was directing was was released which was directed by mr tom hooper and it was very successful so we thought that we might just write that i need to add on mini engage the audience by producing this show movement and the interests of the music that you pay only the meal was a rock and what were some of the deal reactions from students rather than denver's kitty angel into the militant get songs that you pick one or will they simply were not familiar with it. um i mean is the musical was on was first debuted in nineteen eighty six it was a really long time ago and not that much stood up not that many students were very familiar with the musical but i don't think it is the music is right. but what they saw the movie they watched the movie and actually i'm done i think the music with analogies themselves are getting a taxi so i let the students get attached to the music once they start practicing. it's okay and i
11:16 am
like it said that there really is part of program you have been beating teaching high school marching band teacher national competition almost every year since two thousand with no two thousand and one. no twenty two overs and though what were some of the more memorable experiences at the international competition for example to causing eleven the guy swinging malaysian bank. ok two thousand called you were in calgary canada and co were some of these experiences compare with last years two thousand thirteen. the moral ten chicks. i think the first thing that would come to mind but he didn't know it is the different locations actually post different challenges than the cause of for some human agents of the top of its tropical weather and so we really had a very hard time requesting before the championships will pay for the competition because it brings eighty one and done probably in malaysia be to not have the tradition of free persons endorsed cook so we all had to be arsed
11:17 am
outdoors but it was down pouring and was really difficult for us to really get well prepared to give the afternoon showers and that's exactly it to come whereas in canada and probably very cool temperature and dumb sometimes. these students want everyone of us fell back and was very difficult to adapt to the humidity this since the committee to visit an older and probably a six week i've had a higher elevation so close on four as the physical act of the success of march and that you really need to breathe very hard and sometimes the height of the nation it's actually quite difficult system is cut to adopt a duck in the first few dates on it and put the two thousand eleven region competition. he picked the theme of the local music from sound of music. and for two thousand twelve at the calgary competition. uk deal of romantic tension and white films known pretty
11:18 am
clear you know sets of music would be of good reasons the twenty two of decision making process. there's really not that much mystery behind the series and we are in africa marching band. we usually use off the shelf commercial commercially released music that we can buy it from the music stores up and believe it or not there really isn't that many good arrangements for marching band so we actually have a very good that it down the very limited pool of resource but i think own because the marching band show was very short about ten minutes you may need to patch the audiences and the judges' attention. therefore sometimes we hope to select music that often. really it attracts attention at the very first moment so what are the jackets or b movie soundtracks or classical music or rock and roll exactly they can all be very very fine tunes for marching band show calm and in addition um i think because
11:19 am
it takes several several months to prepare a show set in the music has to really be interesting enough and deep enough so that the students can explore the musee i developed an interest in it so i think of and usually a very good selection this class can use it because it stands the test of time. of course and general high school marching band has known very well in the competition's matches in two thousand and eleven in malaysia two thousand halting canada and the two thousand thirteen the world championships bill for the first to be you know got gold honors and for two thousand thirty you can use their plates that they let me ask you what were some of the criteria for detectives to make here you know that no decision. i mean is it because companies indicate what the routine for some of the yale formation changes what were some of the cars reached. what the first of all. marching band show house
11:20 am
to the boat designed and well designed. and by meaning by definition is that the music has to be appropriate. you can engage the audience and bring them on an emotional roller coaster ride too so that in a ten minute show there are places where you excited and go places where you seem dumb. there are places where you move them album and this kind of music emotion has to be translated or incomplete it by the visual presentation which extends the choreography of the color guard and also the formations that we produce. i think the judges awarded us when he was recognition because the code total package was designed pretty well. in addition execution is also the importance of my execution i mean that the band members what people to know when to play with but seldom really interpret the music in the style that it was supposed to be calm and the color guard members they know they have good technique so that they don't drop the rifles of the top of
11:21 am
the flags lined the formations were crisp and clear and timely and well everything was coherent and together i think these are all important book important criteria for the judges to consider yet can you believe me and she knew the band director. what did you get your inspiration. put the signing of a t o d hahha but coaching staff that supports you and do you know how to come up with that the summing up the content in the show. palm was strictly speaking i don't have the idea that coats your staff but of course mean we'd be discussed how we would like to proceed with the production of the show before we start designing it with other staff members okay um but i think learning all about watching other shows is actually very helpful they are just knew was marching band chose one of these marching activities across the world and since the internet is very convenient nowadays it's quite easy for people to pool resources from the internet
11:22 am
and phone very good shows but on the other hand two and two are no other extreme i think um being a designer is means that you really have to be able to be inspired by everything in life. so whether it be. why is the music you know la still worries that the colleges in the human drama. yes the ending. these all can be incorporated into the show okay. and of how long does it really take funded the signing of the show and the practice and took the time yes he called to the international competition hormones this process you should take. i would say takes about half the year after year. right on the twenty four for the designers who for example i'd draw the eye designed the formations and the color guard instructor has to design the choreography the design process actually takes a long time before some pool and we probably marched up to ninety four nations
11:23 am
with this show in handy for each page of our nation. on average it would take me about almost an hour to draw and design so ok just in designing the formations for the job. that's what we call it would take about ninety hours in total by the band members would practice on six to nine hours doing this semester is over week to week ok the guys from jittery to june and summer we had intense that have school so that's twelve hours a day so really takes half a year to prepare h o r a and for the national competition. are you prepared to chill for the hulking give people a parent because gentle high school is one of the top high school seeing how one if not the top and that they have a lot of new demand on the new academic lol. and the hope to persuade of you know this is seen pouring so there you have to spend at least an hour from monday through friday after school to
11:24 am
practise in the hockey due to hug you come and stand up to convince the parents. mixing the students that is a bit easier. madison is themselves sometimes in the dune field and there's low morale. i was on show than the video clips of their competitors are and they would get really know too that will likely come out to dinner so that i will. but i think they hate the very hardworking students and that really isn't a very big problem. the parents did a bit more typical cat max bracket especially in terms of their academic and the daycare lot about the academic achievements of their songs so you usually i would approach it from a softer side from emotional side telling them that by taking part in this activity and their children many starts to discover another side of themselves and they start to cool to take all the teams that sometimes it's very difficult to get
11:25 am
something you know the regular track in school of course and this really is an indication that they mean you're on the very fabulous program. that's why a lot of parents would trust you. but the time for the toolkit. so thank you very much and we need to take another break of the program will be back i knew. the inhuman. eye. well
11:26 am
come back to our program today on guitar while that may post the prequel what we'll continue this fascinating conversation without getting the offence was to direct it off that i came in a simple gentle high school marching band. daniel was talking about the international competition he'll push to use steel plant in high school or others to go to an old soul for the last you know thirteen fourteen years since you've been beyond that the band director. you have colds so we won't be watching them on the tree the development of marching bands in taiwan. not just at the high school level the media to middle school level. oh maybe even some of the civic organization less than what is your overall assessment of the marching band movement being caught one. do people really need you what you want to. boy do people think of. he'll kill me as a spectator sport
11:27 am
really is something always enjoyable but would not want to be a part of it. what i want my children to be a part of the one chore. the doc who actually pointed to summarize it in a nicely. mccabe has always been this spectator sport. here's some people would really love to watch it but they don't. they would consider twice before deciding to join one to be a part of the exams he had done i think the margin back to his dying aunt entire laundry and unfortunately um is this really is like all the other artistic programs in grade school. okay i think this has been the trend for the past decade thanks to the admin for. on the rise of the internet exists and done i would. i'm not happy to say but i have to say this is that all i think telling the students have become experts in choosing activities that would provide
11:28 am
the maximum. um effect here with the least that would mean a moment at this year's night and has obeyed they really don't want to know that much time or energy into something that is really cold so i think that's why um bands have been doing getting in and even in terms of membership across taiwan in all levels. so although the number of fans probably did not draw back munch and five bc that the number of ddt and an ambitious and it is in each tent has been thinking ok and that goes back to the earlier point that the rates in terms of the three necessary conditions heal people on being an endo was a space that's right but you know i mean the eu mission that people may be the most typical answer we prove your point is now dead to a lot of the students building
11:29 am
the beach is good to be part of its marching band you know who the video participation bill because the fact that the two now wanted to call the second term on the work only in the don't think it's you know cost effective. no didn't get to get the maximum input toward the positive points into some pushing dear to your academic career still for that. still given the fact that the notable high school is also known as a very high academic standard for all the students. copy the dead as the band members who come forward. see that the doctor found on the part of the marching band cooking milk cheese dip. laura tried to tell them that the importance of balancing the academic demands. also fulfilling get marching band responsibilities. um i told students and also parents of any of that the joining a marching band in high school provides that provides an opportunity to meet a very different high school i took of more importantly i think
11:30 am
it's a valuable window of opportunity for the students to rediscover themselves who they really are. this is especially for the student section twenty two high school because they are all very talented its own and a lot of them have really never experienced any setbacks. up until high school. but the margin back to the something that is very challenging physically and mentally. this all the students who have been very proud of their achievements for the past fifteen years with sonny find that it's actually very difficult to for example march in time and while it's very easy for other people he might be very difficult with that. i doubt they would suddenly start to feel that whole i'm really not that good in everything i think this isn't actually a very important. the experience in life and soul they start to rediscover themselves and they start to learn how to for example manage the time will be on balance between
11:31 am
into practise and their studies they also start to learn how to control their emotions. it was even learn how to communicate with each other and i think i'm more and more parents and are gradually appreciate the importance of this kind of education that is sown to provide it in no traditional schools and ok. and of the wiggles and nickel me when you talk about marching band in town wall. this tool to socialist become ill people thought this is something lacking sixties and seventies style marching band used to be one of the hill facing the sea to try to improve social and military morale. that of course has really changed over the last you know two decades has helped and that given the fact that the circumstances been different. how do you think that the general today in taiwan. chrissy marching band as something that you don't like what you just mentioned
11:32 am
help the youngsters to practise the appeal that inner strength though mental strength and physical strength but also develop a sense of teamwork. but working with others still trying to present something that's uniform. that's what it feels great and good. it is something he'll perception can still see changing in time. i think it might be changing but it is very salt away and in. probably in places that i have not discovered yet ok but i would say that your observation is correct because for example on the johnny the city government has been organizing the type and festival for more than twenty years and their hard work has actually paid off because i think for a lot of bands in taiwan they actually do enjoy dinner for me experiences in town. he contends the crowd the audience there. they might not be experts in music but they do appreciate the performances by
11:33 am
the benson would really applaud the efforts of the performing members. so i think there might be this gradual paradigm shift that is happening. it might take a little bit more time but i think with the efforts of all the different groups in the society margin of the ladies it will always be a spectator sport and it will always have the function of boosting morale. but it would be called more entertaining than i think more and more people would even if they don't join they would appreciate this fact is that okay. and of other people including myself my tools you've set by the fact that you know what i spent a very tangible high school. there you have to know some difficulty in terms of attracting the oath of right members into the marching band program. and that given the fact that you are an educational system has been consistently stressing the importance of a wall rounded education not just
11:34 am
academically but also the interests of community involvement interest of extracurricular activities and certainly marching band will be one of them. you know that a lot of people you don't worry i would think bill would allow the students interested in but i do think that this deal concept local wild rounded education specially for people who have not yet reached college they sell really becoming ill or something why don't we feel accepted among the parents and students which is something still. at this stage of fun. you know in conceived at the top. talk about it. you see a lot of lip service but not some concrete progress to speed me i think you're all divisions are getting to the point because i do see this polarization of mindsets then it all on one on one side of the spectrum one end of the spectrum you would find people who really do
11:35 am
appreciate. on the education or the training of becoming a renaissance man yet anybody would want to become a well rounded person not just focus solely on their academic achievements. but on the other hand there are people who so congrats but it is when they succumbed to reality and they understand that you know the grades or the academic achievement each easements is really what counts towards the future success so they are unwilling to develop themselves into anything that has nothing to do what is the relevant taking to their future success is an entrance exams and receive this polarizing sian and i think that is one reason why bcp than the number of membership so i've read two weeks i've really high respect for the people who joined the band. not only themselves but also that their parents would encourage them and then which is in bed if we could ski program for the down interest rates. baby down to
11:36 am
the elementary school level building behalf of first and second graders but people more senior at the elementary level. would that help build that become something of a commonplace among the elementary schools across taiwan for example what the the interest of keeping more people and parents interested in balkans approval. i think it would help them to come as long as we give them proper education. so the back by this i mean that we don't really push them too hard so that they did there's a backlash. um but i think it would be very good to expose them to this activity and get some are mentally ready or even physically prepared to develop an interest for this activity in the future by one of about a minute left to fandom comanche three guarding the three conditions you did mention the difficulties in terms of funding and is there something that you don't foresee to be a big problem since many of the school so
11:37 am
drunk i want to have the recognition that we need to have your extracurricular programs like the parchment and to help students get that balance. funding is not could be the biggest issue. ok cuz a lot of the um financial requirements are met by parents themselves will be actually pay whatever is necessary and he is going on but i think the school was some of the school was also recognize that the a's scored for the school to have invented whether it be a much and then of course event so there are sometimes willing to support that has terrific are a worthy to take the final breakdown of program today will be back in just a few minutes. the owner
11:38 am
the owner. yours. eye welcome back to the final part of today's program he'll become one of the copper coast region will what will continue hope we're at this fascinating conversation with academia and acoustic or leave it to bright enough that i can use a pull chain cool high school marching band. and that daniel was talking about the field of marching band was winning tile one where some of the challenges galore some difficulties but you know if we switch in focus the will to fund the perspective of students feel bad tempers
11:39 am
how would you think that the philippine part of teaching all high school marching band program and taking part the two national competitions almost yearly how would you think that we'll go will help the interests of the exposed to international conditions apartment. i also competitions and baby b field thinking that they were fun to watch high school in town while the townsville but when they travel receipts he can see the look of big fish off of other bigger punts and the that he'll help the contents of good or ill and a better sense of assurance above with the r o what it would be the reason that we travel overseas to compete every year is because i hope that by seeing other bands they wouldn't know who they are or where there are placed in this the twelveth planet. it is also a very humbling experience. most of them. um
11:40 am
because martin and activities in a very competitive events so everybody works very hard in order to bring out the facts of the shell. so when everyone works well and at least they think they work very very hard. how do you compare against each other how was your best compared against other people's pets ok so that becomes something that the students are very critically aware of because they suddenly find that i think of what your heart that while the same age as me as i am but their taxes. he's ahead of me. so it's a very homely experience and i think they start to appreciate one another's kind of a mutual respect for each other more each other's efforts balm in addition i think the students by traveling overseas start to develop a fresh perspective about this world we covered it in different places each year and they are different kinds of cool two different kinds of people and
11:41 am
the student was suddenly find that the world is not what i imagine though. it's like it's actually very good to pray at all. probably many of them have come so many english and their young age but when you are really in front of people trying to communicate with them to school we had different. this is the challenge is to be so um i think it's up. eye opening experience for a lot of people even if the problem brought many times but because they're participating in a band competition. they have to or they are forced to adopt a fresh perspective and really tried to understand where they're placed in discrete well okay then given the fact that i should mention gaining early. a lot of the students come from you know how academic field backgrounds. it's really a gentle high school is no easy achievement. and given the fact that many of them probably never experienced
11:42 am
setbacks before. up to that point. and what do you know eating some of the competition. they did their best but they came away a nice wall plates as they have no interest when neil anticipated phone call today and we'll try to help them re group and we stored his sense of confidence and knowing what they are and then goes so they have the motivation to come back to the practice field and continue with the poker. the sense of awe it is quite important for them because they have been together for at least a year and they have developed this camaraderie which really helps them to as you said the group themselves or regained confidence but i would often emphasize that the process is very very important i wouldn't say that the process more important than the results but i would say that crosses a lot of times you are much more than what the results would be
11:43 am
provided. so i think during the process we will continually on emphasize that by devote a whole pot to pee into the top suspect many devoting all your time and energy. you really start to discover another. on another place to another aspect of yourselves. i think this is very important for the high school students. okay you know i wanna clarify i did not mean to you know we ski pro when ill and should the program has come farewell which he is indeed the hats you know for example action to cause a thirteen between two national championship in the old world championship became the third place and to previous years. you know you both are in all it's cold on theirs. on the international competition. and given effect to your summation of the students' parents to be a big role in terms of how the band is still coming together and raise the funds necessary and others. old songs and some of these
11:44 am
parents travel with a meal with a band that when you do go to international competition. do you find it to be the real deal positive force. carson did feel factor in terms of helping this tune to ease the guilt the hassles you feel great demands on to timing and the g twenty international travels. what do you find some time to do could be heard. but the daisy wheel issue that technique to deal with the whole not just with the band members also detects which is i think overall parents have been very very positive force in the good and evil omen of the banks and nineteen on for the past decade and i see this huge change in the parents' involvement in the event took on in the early years when i started teaching the bad and the parents really did not really care about the truth and they don't really care about what the band is doing but gradually i see more and more parents getting involved and one reason that a lot of parents told me is because
11:45 am
they bring tears opportunity to grow up along side their songs because you know high school students and their age sometimes they can be very awkward and they don't really want to pass to be around them anymore so this actually offers a very good opportunity for the parents too many still the colts with their sons and had a lot of parents for this reason the most was their son to join the marching band phnom penh i really think these kinds of great bunch of people there are a fascinating very selfless volunteers and the tony taken their own songs but they also take care of others and dump this some people devote their time some people donate money some people provide their professional expertise to take care of the teenagers citing the parents merely oh four on overall is a very positive close. and that given the fact that you have taken the students had their parents to many international competitions. do you mean

because that is the italian so when the italians were on the audience were applauding and which outs and they were very passionate with his sister the light wood because we didn't know what happened to the call us yes we definitely didn't recognize that they were calling the school's name. but i think of. usually on the field during the award presentation ceremony because of discipline. so the students have to stand straight and we can express their excitement when we do that so usually what happens is after all to feel some people will cry and of course many times it's not only because of the thrill of winning a championship. it's also because that they have come to realize this is the last time that they will be marching in this show with all the fellow band members so it's it's actually a very emotional moment are eight before the final question of today's program they knew what's the story for the chandler high school marching band in two thousand twenty two thousand fourteen we are doing a show called secret agents. ok so it would
