'between logistics of transportation hotels, team functions, in arena aspects, its kind of been a collaborative efforts.' the police department will be providing a large downtown assist... 'one of the biggest challenges we have with this being at wells fargo is we are bringing thousands and

'our officers we love interacting, we want to make sure everyone leaves des moines with a great impression and that includes the police department... while we still do not know which teams will be playing in des moines, the greater des moines convention and visitors bureau has already designated 8 hotels where the teams will stay. it's all to help with the logistical planning ahead of time... battered and bruised.... a corrections officer is recovering from an incident inside the mitchellville women's prison. this man was one of four corrections officers injured.. when authorities say an inmate attacked one of them. the union representing the officers says the incident could have been prevented or descalated had more staff been on duty. they also say staff should be able to carry pepper spray

and here they got the pepper spray locked up in the captain's office and ya gotta run back and get permission to get it and by the time that's don the incident's over. somebody is hurt. an inmate could be killed. an inmate could be dead. an officer could be killed. a statement issued by the department of corrections says quote: the department of corrections is committed to operating safe and secure facilities and will continue to work to improve our operations for the safety of all. -end quote- the department of corrections declined to explain why the officers are not allowed to carry pepper spray. jurors in the murder trial of a boone man are hearing his side of the story... 41 year old alex fazzino is accused of killing his wife, emily, in january 20- 12. today, fazzino's hour long interview with investigators played out in court. in it, he told them her addiction to prescription medication was putting stress on their marriage. he also talked about the night

that we can make work. 24:51 lou king owns the donut king on grand avenue in west des moines... his building, was purchased by a developer... and at the end of the month, king will close his store to make way for new businesses. he's owned the donut king since 19- 73... king says over that time, he's built a loyal customer base. he says he's been blown away by the support of the community... the store will close for good on march 20th. more than 200 teens representing all of des moines' high schools gathered to have a safe place to talk about some of the issues facing america's youth... 'we wanted to create an event that brought young people from all over the city together to discuss social issues, and create art using one of the urban art forms and we wanted it to be youth led, youth produced.' emily lang helped start the urban leadership class at central campus, a class that has grown from just

short years... the two day event offers town hall style meetings and artistic workshops like graffiti writing, street art and spoken word poetry... and teens say it's a place they feel comfortable expressing themselves and talking about tough issues... and the nasdaq closed 8 higher sandwich chain subway says it is adding antibiotic-free chicken to its menu. the company claims it beat out its fast- food rivals to become the first major chain to make the change in all stores. the antibiotic-free rotisserie-style chicken sandwich will be available on march first. mcdonald's announced a similar move a year ago, but is still working on implementation. chick-fil-a says it has now reached 23 percent of its goal to eliminate antibiotics, with full conversion expected by 20-19. many fast food companies have e committed in recent years to selling "cleaner" ingredients. that's due in part to years of public health warnings about antibiotics in food. the list of america's most hated retailers is out... . abercrombie and fitch scored the lowest on the american customer satisfaction index for the retail industry. and this is abercrombie's debut on the list. the company scored a 65 on the

harvey county sheriff t. walton identified 38-year-old cedric ford as the man who killed three people and wounded 16 others thursday.... after being served at work. the rampage came to an end after ford was shot and killed by police at excel industries, where he worked. that's also where most of his victims were shot. the f-b-i is still on the scene at excel industries.
