democratic senator joe sang. the city of north liberty will once again search for a new mayor. amy neil son holds the post but last night she won a seat in the iowa house. once she begins the job in january she must resign her city leaders will have 40-days to appoint a new mayor. 18:56:09 if they appoint, the citizens of north liberty they decide not to petition and go along with the council's appointment, then that person will be up for election come november . .as for the outgoing mayor, nielsen tells fox 28 news she hopes the council finds some ?new voices in the community to try and build a more diverse group of leaders. iowa's libertarian party is now claiming a victory in this year's election.presidential candidate gary johnson's

upper midwest or the central united states. a quiet weather pattern currently locked in place. here's our satellite with the high pressure rimging right through the middle of country it shut down moisture and no clouds to be found. with clear skies tonight it will be a cool night ahead. tomorrow morning's commute here in the corridor temperatures will be in the range of about 35 to 3 # degrees. right around 7:00 a.m. winds will be light out of the southwest at 5 to 10 to begin the day. star reschool night ahead of us tonight. tomorrow the winds will pick up a little in the afternoon hours. up to 25 miles per hour. that will bring unseasonably mild air back to the midwest. after that a little cool down expected on friday and into early saturday. overall, pretty steady as she goes as far as the weather is concerned. above normal temperatures and absolutely nothing in terms of precipitation.

pattern. the last time we had rain in cedar rapids was back on november 2nd. the next chance i can see is not until november 18th. if that works out, we'll go 15 consecutive days without any rain. but no weather probs there. we've had 7.68 inches above the normal for the here so far. plenty wet but see a nice stretch of dry weather continuing for the next 7 days. on the protect your tonight, high pressure we talked about. you can see the absence of upper midwest. and as that high pressure gradually drifts off to the southeast we see the front develop to the northwest of us tomorrow evening. we have a nice southwest wind blowing in tomorrow and that will send the temperatures up quickly after a cool night and by afternoon we will be back in the middle 60s. it might be 15 to 18 degrees above the seasonal norms. this is the precipitation

obviously fast forward 48 hours. she lost the white house and donald trump will be the 45th president of the united states and so what we were learning last night with our pan yell we had one financial analyst on and he was saying that some of the markets were going haywire overnight. we were curious on what the markets did today. this is where the markets opened today on november 9th. at first they were a little crazy. took a drive but then what happened they start to rise and for the rest the day they lot of the we were curious about why for everything we found it turnsz out uncertainty is bad. that's what we knew and the conventional wisdom was that hillary clinton like her policies or not would be more easy to predict and so therefore the traders and the markets would like a clinton president evens. but what also is good for those markets is a clean sweep by republicans. not only do they took the white house and took the senate and

wins at 5 to 15. our day will get off to an excellent start and even better through the afternoon hours. beyond the 7-day and we're going out 14 days here and this will end up on november 23rd and here ublg see the trend line. we start out with normal temper you're of 50 on the 10. by the 23rd we're down to 42 degrees. essentially we start out nice and mild here but about the time we get to the 17th or 18th. i think we're going to u a bit of a change around here. we're talking about this the past couple of days and starting to see signs of much seasonable and colder temperatures moving into the midwest. by the 20th the high maybe around 40 degrees and after that several days of 40's expected as we go through the 23 and 24th of the mochlt cooling trend definitely in the worked but not going to happen for about 7 or 8 dadz. extended forecast short term.

blocking an intersection there. over on this side, from david, a cbs affiliate in philly as well. you can see people outside a church lining the entire roadway. we go -- this is happening though all across the country which is why we're taking attention to it. in chicago some protest yorz taking over the top of the city bus and keeping the buses from driving around and being part of the public transportation. this is also a video we see here. the signs that say not my president, kind of like back off. and a lot of people starting to take over interstates. a lot of what we've been seeing from other protests across the country where they're looking to disrupt traffic pat terns and kind of make people kind of feel uncomfortable in that way and stop their ability to flow through cities obviously tonight. we'll track this as the week goes on and as more time passes

also at trump tower that is incredibly active right now. we saw people going through with cell phones there taking video of people going up to trump tower. the interesting thing is that just last night that's where they had the victory party. just outside they had the big sanitation trucks filled to the very top in the back with sand to act as bomb barriers. right now the bomb barriers are still in people. this is a picture of the tower right now and you're on the ground so you see people's heads. in the very back you see the top of some of those trucks. that's what those people are talking about. those are big trucks normally used to hall dirt all around new york city. right now being used essentially to help keep people away from the trump tower originally just supposed to be for the victory party last night. back to you. as you can see from the protests tonight, the election of donald trump has caused a lot of emotional response and
