" at fairfax state savings [no audio] used or copied.she says it's also good protection to have a bank that knows you.elaina kempin - fairfax state savings bank (( 5:43:59 )) " we're always looking for anything that might be out of the norm for our customers so say there's a big gap in checking sequence for example or a large amount that's been written on an account that our customer typically wouldn't do .. that's a re and we want to investigate that and take extra precautions. " kempin says - all of us need to treat our check books like cash - and keep them safe. police say the most frustrating part is - burglars aren't kicking in doors or busting car windows to get check books - people just need to lock their doors.

during a traffic stop in cedar rapids earlier this month.fox 28 news anchor karen fuller has tonight's update on the case. a grand jury is working to figure out whether charges should be filed in the shooting of a suspect by a cedar rapids police officer.friends and family of suspect jeremie mitchell are coming together this week, hoping to raise money as he recovers from serious injuries. mitchell was behind the wheel of a car pulled over by officer lucas jones.police say there was some type of jones and mitchell that led up to the shooting.mitchell's friends tell fox 28 news that not only is he still recovering - he is also paralyzed.tomorrow night, a benefit for jeremie mitchell will take place at the african american museum of iowa.it runs from five to nine o'clock. then - a benefit concert is scheduled at gabe's in iowa city this sunday night, december fourth from seven to ten.as for officer jones, he remains on paid administrative

demonstrations broke out along the entire route of the pipeline. the biggest protests continue in north dakota.authorities have arrested so many demonstrators that the court system can't handle all of the new cases.police have made nearly 600 arrests since august.local adminstrators say they don't have enough judges, lawyers and clerks to handle the workload.judicial leaders and public defenders say they need an additional two million dollars from the state to handle everything.they say the guarrantee the demonstrators rights to a speedy trial and due process. next on the fox 28 news at nine --it is no small task to plan for the future when you are talking about a city made up of tens of thousands of people. i'll show you how cedar rapids is bringing the community together to address issues before they pop
