>> reporter: scott, this is a criminal investigation, and d authorities are e rking to locate the suspect. he sms to bebeeeding off the publicity, and that's in part why investigators are reluctant to talk about it, but multiple law enforcement officials tell cbs news that he had unauthorized access to both prprate e-mail accounts.s. lala in the day the person tweeting under the handle of cwa followed through on threats to release sensitive inrmation. "you know we don't lie. what you have all been waiting for. sorry for the delay." alonwith thahastatement came an attachment with the names, social security number and phone numbers of about 20 people said to be affiliated with the head of the cia. in fact, t unidentified hacker, who claims to be a high school sdent, says the infoation came from thth private e-maililccount of cia director john brennan. whoever it is also claims to have hacked into the private e-ma account of homeland security secretary jeh johnson. throughout the day the hacker

appeared to be taunting the officials and others in government. "we are not doing this for personal satisfaction. we are doing this because innont people in palestine are beinkilled daily." and "anyone know whoe should target next?" in a statement the cia would only say that it has referred the matter to the appropriate authorities. we contacted some of the people whose names were on the list, and there is a common thread. many worked for the obama transition team inin008. scott, it is importata to note the e trusions were to thehe personal accounts. some of the information taken was sensitive. >> their personal accoun but not their government secured systems that handles classified information. jeff pegues reporting for us tonight. jeff, thank you. well, this is shaping upups the most critical week for hillary clinton's presidential mpaign. on thursday she will testify under oath before the house committee that's investigating the 2012 attack on a u.s. compound in benghazi, libya, an attack which killed four americans including the u.s. ambassador.

for winter coats this morning. it was 17 degreeeein montpelier, rmont. 19 in massena, new yor and in the town of mexico, new york autumn leaves disappeared in a blanket of laeffect snow. nine inches fell over the weekend. they're digging out in southern california, too. last week six feet of mud covered highway 58 north of l.a. mireya villareal reports it won't be melti away on its own. >> reporter: david quintana is seeing his truck for the first time in five days. >> i think it's going to be totaled. i think it's going to have a l/t of electrical problems and probably some water in the motor. >> reporter: he was one of hundreds of f ople stuck on highway 58 when torrential rains hit the area. >> i turned and i lookednd off the mountain there was just a ver of water comindown. and i was really concerned that weere going to get washed away. reporter: more thanan50 cars and trucks were towed, some to

the mojave airport, where drivers scraped off mud and tried to salvage what was inside. back on highway 58 transportation crews were scraping mud off t t road. ssica mcdonel, shot this video of the mudslide from inside their truck. >> luckily we weret fartrtr up whwhe the cars were buriri more. >> repororr: the pair waited nearly 12 hours inside their vevecle to be rescued. >> the cars in front of us were floating around, banging into it was really scary, and we were really lucky that we didn't get as much damage as most of these other cars. >> reporter: there are still dozens of cars here at the airport that either need to be picked up or they need to be towed. and crews right now are trying to scrape up mud, nearly 1 million cubic yards of mud still t there on highway 58, enough to fill 305 olympic-size pools. scott, they're hoping to do that by thursday of t ts week and

for us tonight. mireya, thk you very much. well, openenkies are becoming a problem too. today the transportation department said it will require most owners of recreational drones to register. kris van cleave reports. >> reporter: the number of drone complaints to the faa has surged from 238 for all of 2014 to 969 and counting so far this year. one of the biggest challenges is finding the operator, something this registry aims to make easier. transportation secretary anthony foxx. how do you plan to enforce this, particularly with people who already own drones what's theirncentive to register them? >> we would expect retroactive registration. this task forcrcwill have to come up with those solutions. >> reporter: but how are you going to enforce that? are you going to send the drone police after people? >> the signal we're sendin today is that when you enter the

and dr. jon lapook has them. jon? >> scott, the american academy of pediatrics is reinforcing previous recomndations saying, "no amount of alcohol intake should be considered safe." the risk increasess alcohol consumption inineases but even one drinday has been linind to delayed growth. even though these recommendations have been in place for more than 30 years, roughly 10% ofomen still drink during pregnancy and 3% binge. that's four or more drinks at once. the effect -- a recent study of fit-graders found 2.5% to 5% had evidence of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. >> but you know, some doctors say you want to have a glass of wine have one glass of wine. is that nosafe? >> scott, thisiseport says there's no confirmed consensus right now about the dangers of an occasional drink of alcohol during pregnancy. but i spoke to the lead author and she saidlook, we know for a facthat alcohol can have a fetus. so she said why take chance?

that's next. opoph winfrey is going o oa diet again, this time for a ton of money. today she spent $43 million for a 10% stake in weight watchers. she says that she plans to use the company's mobile app and workith a personalaloach. the deal, though, is already paying off. shares of weight watchers doubled today. amazon thinks it knows a fake when it sees one. it is suing more than 1,000 people, accusing them of making money by giving rave reviews online about products that th've never tried. amazon says it undermines trust.

police are investigating the death of an african immigrant. someone opened fire at a bus station t. african immigrant went in to seek cover. but he was shot by a security guard anddbeaten a a kicked by angry israelis. this is the latest in a wave of stabbings and shootings by palestinians this month. firefighters in southeast texas are battling a growing wildfire t. fire in walkeke county north of houston forced the evacuation of 300 homes in central texas, a wildfire near belton burned at least 40 acres of state park. there has been more rain and flooding in southern cacafornia. one neighborhood innos angeles county was completely under water t. national weather service issued a flood advisory, but tre are no reports of injuries. a family of a florida man is demanding answers this morning aftet he was shot and killed by a police officer.
