homecoming parade. parade.25-year-old adacia chambers was arrested saturday on a driving while under the influence chahae. police say she was drunk.but chambers attorney, tony coleman said she didn't drink that day, and said she suffers from some sort of mental illness.he told reporters at a press conference that shshdoesn't remember much of the crash. chambers is expected to appear in court sometime today.four people were killed, including a two year old boy, and at least 46 people were injured. a memorial for the dead and injured has sprung up nnr the site of ththcrash...this is where the car plowed into the homecoming parade saturday. seventeen people are still in the hospital -- fouin critical condition.people who visited the memorial site say it's important to take care of the victim's families. that deadly crash is hitting home for a cedar rapids man. man.lester schmitz says his brother leo was critically injured in that crowd.we spoke to lester last night on the phone while he goes to comfmft hihibrother in lahoma.

right now, police are still on the lookout for whoever was responsible for a weekend shooting in cedar rapids.police say it happened saturday afternoon just before two on first#avenue east and -st street northeasasone person was taken to the hospital after being shot in the shoulder.police say two vehicles were driving by each other, when words were exchanged. that's when a person inside one of the vehicles shot toward the second car.no description of the vehiclclwas given. iowa democrats gathered this weekend in des moines for a chance to see the three remaining candidates for their party's presidenti mination. nomination.hillary clinton and bernie sanders dueled for support among the more than n six thousand people packed in the hy-vee hall for the jefferson-jackson dinner. there's now fewer than a hundred days until the iowa caucues.the crowd enjoyed entertainment from pop star katy perry and martin o'malley - even b bught his guitar. former president bill clinton accompanied his wife but she made it clear she's the one running.

the dance marathon at west high school in iowa city but the students are anxious to go.this past weekend they held a celebration to get ready for the january 17th - event.they charged a dollar donation for admission.all that money goes to the university of iowa children's* hospital.the university of iowa holds the dance mamathon februaua fifth and sixth. the cedar rapids rough riders teamed up with the nassif community cancer center to raise awareness about breast cancer with the pink in the rink event over the weekend. two dollars of every ticket from their game goes to the cancer center spirit fund to help women living with cancer. the salvation army in cedar rapids is hosting a free, family-friendly, trunk or treat event tonight from 4- to-six.it will take place in the salvation army's parking lot.this is video from a similar r ent in the wellington heights neighborhood last night.kids will also get the chance to jump in a giant inflatable red kettle bouncer, make crafts, decorate cookies and play games. it's after the break... break...the new show on cbs that already is on one

a breakingnews update this morning, morning,on a powerful 7-popot-5 earthquake in northern afghanistan rocked cities across south asia. asia.at least 29 people have been confirmed dead so far. hundreds of others have bejn injured.strong tremors were felt in kabul, w delhi, and islamabad this morning.in pakistan, people were reportedly pouring out of office buildings in a panic. it's about mid-afternoon there right now. parts of western mexicio are cleaning up this morning from the damage caused by hurricane patricia. patricia.although weather experts are calling it the strongest hurricane on record, the damage, wasn't nearly as bad as many predicted.the hurricane peaked at sea with winds of up to 200 miles per hour.by the time it reached shore those winds dropped to

a man in south carolina is now in jail -- after police say they found about 10-thousand stolen guns at his home and warehouse -- along with more than 150 chainsaws and hundreds of taxidermy mounts. police made the discovery when they went to his home to serve a subpoena for another case. authorities believe the man was a gun-hoarder -- and now say it will be a long process to return the stolen items to their rightful owners. it was another deadly night on the gridiron.a football player from the chicago area died from an injnjy he received in a high school football game. game.teammates -- friends and family gathered saturday night to remember andre smith.the cook county medical examiner says the 17-year-old died from head injuries he got during a game on friday.smith collapsed on a bench after walking off the field. the, obama administration says kids spend too much time taking "unnecessary" exams in schools. schools.over the weekend, the president said in a message on fafabook that he wants to fix that.the administration announced new guidelines concerning standardized tests
