from a red sea resort headed for st. petersburg with when it fell out of the sky on saturday and in the air 23 minutes and all 224 people on board were killed. don champion reports. >> reporter: the bodies of victims of the russian metro jet crash in egypt were flown to st. petersburg this morning. russian aviation officials say flight 9268 broke apart 23 minutes into its flight saturday. at the time, the plane was cruising at 30,000 feet over egypt's sinai peninsula. all 224 people on board were killed. an affiliate of islamic state group claimed responsibility for the crash but, so far, investig adequate repair.

growing number of airlines including lufthansa and air france are avoiding the area. >> it is probably prudentents to avoid the area. >> reporter: the head of russian aviation say the debris is spread over six square miles. the plane's black boxes have been recovered but, so far have not been analyzed. russian officials hope to recover the bodies of all the victims the next few days. the airline that owned the plane that crashed has been ordered to ground and inspect all of the a-321 airbusses in its fleet. >> don champion in new york, thank you. the kansas city royals are the kings of the baseball world this morning. kc wing its first world series since 1985 thanks to another late stunning inning collapse by the new york mets and comes one year after kansas city's own heartbreak losing last year's championship in the seventh game.
