we begin with a developing story out of jones county. county.right now - extra security is in place at monticello high school, after officials got word of a possible threat. threat.police tell cbs2/fox28 news they received an anonymous text message saying a student might bring a gun to the school.for the rest of the day, high school students will not be allowed in hallways during class.there is also extra police presence on campus.parents can also check their child out of school today, and absences will be excused. as we just mentioned, protests

are going on at the university of iowa. iowa.demonstrators are calling for new school president bruce harelld and the iowa board of regents to resign.many members of the u-i community have voiced their frustration with the board's hiring of harreld because he doesn't have any academic experience. experience.many have also accused the regents of giving harreld preferential treatment during the search and hiring process.today is harreld's first official day as the university's president.we'll have more on the protests, harreld's first day in office, and a special interview with him tonight on the cbs 2 news live at five and cbs 2 news at six. today in russia it's a national day of mourning as more bodies are being returned from a plane crash. on saturday - all 224-people on board a passenger jet died when it crashed in egypt. investigators says the airplane broke apart at a high altitude and don't believe a technical fault is responsible for the tragedy.right now,

a girl is recovering this morning after she was attacked by a shark in florida. florida.the victim and her familiy were enjoying their vacation on cocoa beach when the attack happened sunday. witnesses say they heard the girl screaming before seeing her get slapped across the face by one of the shark's fins.she was bit in the calf and is now recovering at the hospital.
