library.voters rejected a tax levy last night.it would have given the library funding to keep it operating seven days a week. week.library staff members say most likely, both the downtown location and the ladd library will shut down one day a week. they'll also have to reduce some of the services they offer. some library patrons tell cbs 2 news, they're disappointed more voters didn't realize how this could impact so many people. i haven't been this upset about a city happening in a long, long time, but i'm a lover of the library, and apparently not enough people in this town love the library enough 06.59.22.03 it'll most likely be a few months before we start seeing the cutbacks. in the meantime, staff members say one of the best things you can do, is simply support your local library. a judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging governor branstad's decision to close two state mental health centers. centers.democrat and union leaders filed the lawsuit, claiming the governor couldn't

make a move without legislative approval.the judge sided with the governor, saying he has the authority to veto funding for the centers in mount pleasant and clarinda. an attorney representing lawmakers and afscme says they plan to appeal ruling. cbs 2 news is learning new details about the death of a popular illinois police officer. investigators say lake fox officer joe gliniewicz carefully staged a suicide after committing extensive criminal acts.the 52-year-old was found dead last month, after he radioed in a call for back up.the shooting led to a massive manhunt for three men. investigators also revealed the officer had been embezzling money from a youth program for several years.two other officers could face charges. authorities w say a boy who was shot and killed in chicago, may have been lured to his death. witnesses told police nine-year-d ty-shawn lee appeared to be lured from a nearby park into the alleyey where he was killed. investigators believe the
