the athletic director of discrimination. former senior associate athletic director jane meyer claims her boss -- gary barta -- tried to derail her career. career.meyer says she was moved to a less important position a week after telling barta about a pattern of wage -- sexual orientation and gender discrimination.the school said when it moved meyer -- she couldn't stay in the athletic department because her partner -- tracey griesbaum -- intended to sue for discrimination as well. griesbaum is a former hawkeyes field hockey coach fired over allegations she harassed and bullied players.the university denies any discrimination or retaliation against meyer. n-h-l star patrick kane will *not be charged with rape.that comes after a three month long investigation. investigation.a 21-year-old woman claimed kane raped her in august at his new york home. but now prosecutors say there's no physical evidence that backs up those allegations.the district attorney also said there are inconsistencies between the woman's accounts, and information from eye witnesses. the n-h-l is still reviewing

a dramatic fight between an overnight manager at a minnesota mcdonald's and a customer was caught on camera. camera.it happened early y is week in the drive-thru.the mcdonald's manager said the customer spit on him -- then pulled on his tie and wouldn't let go.another customer another customer waiting in line saw the whole confrontation. even his real name, but was apparently well taken care of and an excellent student.his father is now facing charges that could send him to prison for a decade or more. a tornado ripped off the roof of a building in texas thursday evening.a large section was thrown down onto cars parked below in a parking lot.no one was injurereduring the stororlast week -- a series of storms killed 6 people in the lone star state. at least one person has been killed and several are missing and hundreds of homes have been flooded after a dam bubut in brazil.other residents were then told to evacuate to higher grounds.the dam was built to hold back water and residue @from mining operations. right now -- officials say they can't confirm what caused the dam to burur. the march of dimes released a report that says iowa earned a "c" on its premature birth report card. they say great strides have been made, but more work needs to be done. the report tatas a look at premature births - which is the number one killer of babies. worldwide, 15 million babies are born preterm and
