a corridor golf course a corridor a corridor golf course no longer has a clubhouse this afternoon. afternoon.early this morning at least a dozen different fire units responded to the amana colonies golf club to find the club-house engulfed in flames. flames.joining us live from the scene is cbs 2 news reporter mellaney moore.the fire has been out for several hours now, but firefighters are still out there, so

mellaney, what are they doing? doinfifi crews have been working on this scene for hours.they say what they're doing now is making sure there isn't any smoldering debris. debris.the amana fire chief says they arrived to find the northern thihi of the building in flames.he says they had to use a hose from the south side at first because the smoke, flames and heat were too intense.it took about two hours and the help of the oxford, norway and fairfax fire departments bringing in water to fight the fire.more than thirty golf carts were also destroyed.the general manager says nobody should have been in the building at the time.he says he wowoered w bad the fire wouldlde as he drove toward the towering smoke. 1:10 "you drive up here over the hill and you kind of see that there's maybe one wall of the clubhouse that's still standing. it's like... wow. there'e'absolutely nothing left." left."community members also told us they hope the building

that stood here for 25 years will be rebuilt.staff say they arenensure what's next.in amana, mellaney moore, cbs 2 news. live in amana, mellaney moore, cbs 2 news. news.thanks, mellaney new this afternoon... afternoon...the iowa state trooper who shot at a car in washington county has bn cleared of any wrong-g-doing. doing.the iowa attorney general's office now says the trooper was justified when she fired at a car on october first, because another officer's safety was in jeopardy.the shooting followed a high speed chase that nded at a gas station in riverside. that's where the driver of the car rammed into a johnson county sheriff's office squad car.the trooper shot the car's back tire to keep the suspects from leaving.three people were arrested that day. right now - closing arguments are underway, in the murder trial for nicholas luerkens. luerkens.the defense rested their case thursday.they told the jury that luerkens was not guilty because he was insane when he killed lynnsey donald ininhe arion hy-vee parking lot back in april.luerkens' siblings, his best friend, and a psychologist testified that he was not right at the time

have gained support in iowa since august.that's mainly because vice president joe biden announced he won't enter the race. martin o'malley is the only other democrat in the race.the former maryland governor will be in cedar rapids tomorrow night for the linn county democrat's hall of fame dinner. that event starts at 5:30, tickets for the dinner are 50 dollars.according to c-n-n - o'malley has three-percent support in the hawkeye state. this month your chances of hitting a deer with your car are higher than normal. normal.a study from state farm says november is the worst month for deer collisions in iowa.it reveals iowans have a 68-percent chance of hitting one.state farms suggests you keep your brights on at night when there's no on-coming traffic.they say scan the road, don't rely on deer whistles, and if you do come in path with one on the road, never veer for deer. meanwhile - veterinarians in black hawk county are noticing more dogs getting sick.right now - they're calling it a respiratory illness, but they don't know exactly what it is. they report the dogs are
