now an update to a storyrybs 2 news broke in october. the iowa state trooper who shot at a car in riverside has been cleared of any wrong-doing. the iowa attorney general's office now says t t trooper was stified because another officer's safety was in jeopardy.the shooting followed a high speed chase that ended at gas station.that's w(ere the driver of the car rammed into a johnson county deputy's squad car.the trooper shot out the car's back tire to keep the suspects from getting away. officers arrested three people that day. another big night of high school football could require some extra layers. chief meteorologist terry swails is here now with a first look your cbs 2 'weather

right now, investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a major fire that destroyed an amana landmark. fire crews responded to the amana golf club and event cent around 3-40 this morning. cbs 2 news reporter mellaney moore was in amana all day as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. fire crews this morning spent hours battling a fire at the amana colonies golf club anan

event center.we've seen several people come here today to take a look for themselves at what happened....and staff who have talked to us say it's all gone.colleen koss, resident 1:35 absolutely it's the talk of the townamana residents want to know what appened to a place they say has made e their small community known among golfers throughout the midwest.colleen koss, resident 1:35 i mean we all woke up kind of in shock.close to four o'clock friday morning fire crews arrived to find the amana golf club and event center in flames.the generara manager says he wondered how bad the fire would be as he drove toward the towering smoke.patrick kilbride, amana colonies golf club and event center general manager1:10 you drive up here over the hill d you kind of see that there's maybe one wall of the clubhouse that's still standing. it's like... wow. there's absolutely nothing left. kilbride says he doesn't think anyone was there when the fire startedthe fire chief says it started on the north side near the pro shop.he says they had to use a hose from the south side at first because the smoke, flames and heat were too intense.chris herr, fire chief:48 the north end of the building, approximately one third of it was fully engulfed. golf carts had started on fire on the outside also because of the e

he later died from his injuries. the explosion caused parts of the front and back of the building to be blown off - nine rooms in all were damaged. some good news for iowa's poultry arms affected by the bird flu. 72-of them can now start to restock their flock. quarantines have now been lifted for all commerical poultry farms affected by the virus. iowag officials say the farmrmhave all gone through proper cleaning and disinfecting.31-million birds have had to be put down since the spring because of the bird flu. the university of iowa is taking action actionto help fight against an breakout of mumps on campus. campus.the u-i student health and wellness center is offering all students under the age of 25 the m-m-r vaccine for free.that's a vaccine that fights measles, mumps and rubellathe university says they've seen more than 100-cases of the mumps in the last few months tonight at ten hear why health officials say it's an issue that goes beyond keeping the

cancer, was back.this week, tattoo artistsfrom across the community decided to hold a nefit to help with medical bills.they offered a 30 dollar tattoo deal - they told people to come get a "ribbon" that meant something to them. so many showed up - some got ribbons to wear like a badge of courage, others gotot memorial tattoos - and they say this benefit that was originally meant to help one person, turned out to be theraputic for everybody.
