day.just about two hours ago - president obama laid the ceremonial wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier in arlington national cemetary. through out the day - many cities are holding parades and other events to honor our veterans.veterans day goes all the way back to november 11- th, 19-18: the official end of world war one. for several years, hy-vee has held an annual veteran's day breakfast for veterans, active military members and their spouses. in the past, they've served 80,000 veterans.the free breakfast included pancakes, sausage, eggs, and made-to- order omelets.hy-vee store director dave blum says getting to greet and provide breakfast for those who have served our country is just a small token to thank them for their service. "it's just heartwarming and you know it's amazing to me how grateful they are for the free breakfast and it's really all about them and how grateful we are for their service." service."hy-vee is also encouraging their customers to round up their grocery bill to

the nearest dollar.all the money raised will go to their homefront initiative which supports veterans and several organizations. the initiative goes through the 15th. some veterans are also getting treated today to free haircuts. from now until the end of the year - service men and women can go to any cedar rapids great clips and either get a free hair cut or a card they can later use to get a free hair cut.some veterans who already made good on the offer told cbs 2 news how great it is to see the community celebrate veterans day. us. authorities and familes are searching for answers after a fatal plane crash in akron, ohio. ohio.on tuesday, nine people died when their aircraft slammed into an apartment building.nobody was in that residence at the time.right now - the n-t-s-b, and other agencies are at the scene investigating.but it could be months before they come up with any answers.of the nine people that died - seven were employees of a boca-raton based real estate company.they were on a week-long scouting trip with stops planned for minnesota, illinois, missouri, and ohio where their jet went down. u.s. investigators could soon get to look at physical evidence from the russian passenger jet that went down in egypt.
