an update to a story we first broke to you monday on cbs 2 this morning, morning,linn county authorities are now investigating a murder at a cedar rapids motel. motel.deputies say 47-year-old michael lehman stabbed 23- year-old jimmi-jon lee lint to death after a fight.both were residents at the motel.the criminal complaint does says this stabbing was premeditated. the linn county sheriff's office tells cbs 2 news there was *no previous connection between both men. the victim was staying with his brother at the hotel - i'm not sure how long he had been living there prior to this incident. incident. "it's got me shaken up a hell of a lot - the kid - i like the young man, he's cool, he's nice, he's harmless."

"that's hemp oil, which is cbd, cannabidiol." "right, which is a variety of a cannabis plant." sally gaer just started giving the oil to her daughter, margaret, who has dravet sydrome, in the spring. tediously filling capsules with the oil to make it easier for margaret to take, she cautiously and gradually added it to margaret's daily regimen of four anti-seisure meds and two other drugs that counteract the pharmaceutica ls' side effects. she says the oil made a difference almost immediately. immediately. now an update to a story cbs 2 news first told you about last week. week.in an exclusive report -- we introduced you to a mother who claimed her 10-year-old daughter was attacked by a cedar rapids police officer.

officer.they say the incident happened at the johnson steam academy.lakeshia hayes told cbs 2 news the officer pulled her daughter's hair and cursed at her.now -- a lawsuit has been filed in federal court against the officer -- the police department and the school district.a judge will figu out if that suit goes to trial.the cedar rapids police department is also reviewing a complaint filed against the officer. a cedar rapids man crashed his truck into a church.it happened monday morning at the kingdom ll of jehovah's witnesses on mount vernon road southeast.no one was inside the church at the time of the crash.the driver was the only one injured. this year's flu season has already killed two people in iowa. iowa.state health officials say it serves as a reminder for everyone to get a flu shot. the c-d-c says iowa is among the top three states in the country with the highest flu levels.experts say the flu vaccine isn't perfect but it can protect many people from getting sick.less than 20- thousand americics died during the last major flu pandemic which started in 2009. at the university of iowa, iowa,a group called iowans
