planning on going to the state football championship tonight in cedar rapids.state high school athletic officials decided to postpone tonight's game.they wanted to keep the thousands of fans and players safe by keeping them off the roads.iowa city regina, mount vernon and cedar rapids kennedy will now play monday. if you had tickets to the game tonight, they will be honored monday. a live stream will be availble, but no tv broadcast. so you can keep up with the weather while you are out and about, cbs2 has a weather app you can dowowoad! itit in the apple store, or google play store.just search for cbs-2. a hostage situation has come to an end inhe country of mali. mali.earlthis morning - forces from the islamimistate stormed a hotel in mali's capital city.witnesses say the insurgents shouted "god is great" in arabic during their assault.right now - the united nations is reporting that 27-people were k kled in the siege.authorities are still checking the hotel - so that number could go up.the hotel the attack happened at is popular with tourists, and is

republicans, but got support from dozens of democrats.it's unclear when the senate will take on the bill. we now have an update to a story fromomearlier this week. week.the dubuque man charged with a federal hate crime will stay in jail until his trial starts.a hearing was held this morning for randy metcalf.a criminal complaint says metcalf repeatedly stomped on a black man and used racial slurs during a bar fight last january.a trial date for him has not been set.the u.s. attorneys office now has thirty days to indictctmetcalf. dunkerton's former police chief is now facing felony charges. charges.last month - a state audit found timothy schultz bought bought two-thousand dollars rth of gas with a city fuel card while he wasn't on duty.schultz was arrested yesterday and faces a charge of theft and unauthorized use of a credit card. cedar rapids has seen a arecent rise in burglaries. burglaries.just this month - burglars have hit 67-homes across the city.in most cases
