staff at best buy in cedar rapids say they had a few people camping overnight and a line in front of the door this morning.they say some of the hottest items this year were four-k televisions, drones and tablets. we opened this morning at 8:00. we had a pretty good long line out front, a lot of people coming in for some of the doorbusters that we had going on, especially the game boxes and some of the nintendo and some of the playstations. playstations.the national retail federation says nearly half of holiday purchases will be made online this year.best buy says they feel this black friday has been pretty comparable to recent years. but experts expect a downward trend in black friday shopping to continue this year. year.in 20-14, the national retail federation found both foot traffic and total sales were down during black friday weekend compared to 20-13.but that doesn't mean retailers are necessariliy in trouble. experts say shopping patterns

fight//two men got into a fist fight at a mall food court in louisville.the two men haven't been identified and were caught on cell phone video by onlookers.as they punched each other they knocked one woman to the floor, until a police officer broke up the fight. right now nobody knows what they were fighting about or if anyone will face charges. a man faces charges in iowa city after authorities connected him to thefts of jewelry and electronics. police say bruno felipe is responsible for a burglary in june and another in september. authorities recently searched his house and found evidence that linked him and a friend to several iowa city burglaries. they say he admitted to pawning stolen items but denies stealing them himself. a man has been charged for setting a fire in cedar falls at about a quarter to six on thanksgiving morning.crews were called to 615 iowa street. when they got there, they found three vehicles on fire and thought it was suspicious.

arrested nicholas kollasch. he is now charged with arson and criminal mischief. in our nation's capital, a man who jumped the white house fence on thanksgiving is now facing criminal charges. authorities quickly arrested joseph caputo yesterday, after he scaled the fence in front of the white house, while wearing an american flag.the white house was briefly put on lockdown, while president obama was inside celebrating thanksgiving with his family. a police force in central iowa has more help this mid-day thanks to a five-year-old boy. instead of asking for gifts for his birthday, tristan sommerfeld asked for money for the k-9 fund. he donated about 15-hundred dollars and others followed suit to help bring bosto from a rescue shelter to the ankeny police force. when he's not off-duty playing, bosco is trained to help find missing people and drugs. an eastern iowa christmas tradition returns today, as the tannenbaum forest opens in amana colonies.more than 40 live, decorated chirstmas trees are on display, and even old saint nick will be greeting children.earlier this week, kevin barry and i went to the amanas, to see what it was all about. about. kb: we're here at the amana colonies with ellie cutler, the festivities director, here, and we're inside the tannenbaum forest, what are we looking at behind us, this is pretty cool.ellie: yes, this is our traditional german 17- foot pyramid. and it's decorated to the nines this year.kb: now, what are kind of some of the features on it that are traditional to some of the folks and some of the culture that's around here in amana?ellie: yes, we actually have the amana general store and the little red wagon decorated this year, so they brought a lot of their toys, and kind of, you know their festive stuff for this year. kd: that's so much fun! now, this is an actual traditional german decoration that you'll see?ellie: yes, yup, and people have them in their homes, and they're all around town as well. they're not

(laughs)kd: little ones to go on the table.ellie: (laughs) yes.kd: what are some of the other highlights here?ellie: yeah, so we have over 40 decorated christmas trees, excuse me. they're decorated by local merchants and community members. and it's just, it's great. we have our nativity, we have a new feature this year, we have our gingerbread houses that we brought out. so we're adding some new things as well.kd: that is so much fun. now, when folks come all the way over here to amana colonies, what are some of the other things they can expect around town? ellie: sure, so there's events going on all around town, from cocoa and cookies to just, you know, other fun things that businesses are doing that kind of fit in with the festival. kb: now, for folks that haven't been here before, how can you kind of enjoy the tannenbaum forest? i know there's kind of a method to it when you come in.ellie: sure, so you're going to come in and you're gonna kind of do the full sweep and then we have santa at the very end this year. and all of our proceeds are benefitting the university of iowa children's hospital, so we just ask for a freewill donation.kd: what does it mean to you personally to know that all the proceeds are going to the children's hospital.ellie:

black friday shopping is in full swing across the corridor. here's a live look at coral ridge mall, where the parking lot is *packed this mid-day. mid-day. and it seems holiday shopping sales appear to be off to a good start. start.sales tracker adobe estimates consumers spent more than one billion dollars online thursday.that's up 22 percent from the previous thanksgiving.adobe says more than a quarter of those sales came from mobile devices. another firm, channel-advisor, says sales at amazon were up 30 percent from a year ago.a number of brick-and-mortar stores also opened their doors on thanksgiving for holiday shoppers, including target, walmart, best buy and kohl's. a cbs 2 news consumer alert, alert,some costco chicken salad is now being recalled. the f-d-a says a california farm is recalling a vegetable mix they believe to be the source of an e-coli outbreak. 19 people in 7 states have gotten sick from eating

chicken salad from costco that has this vegetable mix of celery and onions.if you bought chicken salad from costco, throw it out. british banking giant barclays has been fined 109 million dollars for trying to hide a secret deal. deal.britain's financial conduct authority fined barclay's for ignoring its own rules on checking the backgrounds of its clients and the origin of its cash. regulators say a handful of employees bent over backwards to accommodate rich clients on a deal in 2011 and 2012.the transaction reportedly earned the bank close to 79 million dollars in commissions. justin has your weather to go next...but first here's a look at today's markets.
