it's now been one month since most of johnson county raised the minimum wage. wage.much of the talk about what *would* happen is now reality for workers and business owners. owners.cbs 2 news reporter mellaney moore has this update now from north liberty liberty i've talked with a few different johnson county business owners today. some are ininfavor of the increase and othehe are against it. it.the owner of the popcorn shoppe in north liberty says he wrote to the city council telling them a minimum wage increase would hurt his business. business. i did have to plan in advance of raising my prices a little bit, but don't feel it's going to be enough.young says he went along with the first increase to $8.20 on november first. first. i've already had to cut two rt timersrsbecause i said i just can't afford doing that. some business owners in johnson county say the increase might be hard at first, but believe that money will eventually come back to local businesses.

their jobs. chicago's mayor has fired the city's top cop. cop.rahm emanuel announced today the resignation of police superintendent garry mc- carthy.his ouster follows community unrest over the police shooting of laquan mcdonald. the teen was shot 16 times by officer jason van dyke in october 20-14. video of the shooting was released last week - more than a year after the shooting.van dyke is charged with first-degree murder and is free on bond. jury selection goes on tomorrow in the first freddie gray trial.the 25-year-old died while in police e custody. officer william porter is the first of six baltimore police officers being tried in gray's death.porter is charged with involuntary manslaughter, assault and misconduct. gray's death led to days of violent unrest in the city. local planned parenthood leaders are speaking out after the shooting rampage at a clinic in colorado. colorado.three people died
