waterloo high school student has come to a tragicicnd. end.authorities have now identified a body found over the weekend as that of 18-year-old moe sed. he was pulled from the cedar river near gilbertville on sunday. sunday.sed was last seen near his home on the morning of october 22nd.right now - the state medical examiner is ruling his death "undetermined" until an examination is completed.sed was a senior at waterloo westst highghschool.the school district issued a statement after the news broke. broke.it says in part - that sed's family appreciates the support, buthey want to grieve privately and are asking people not to send them gifts or similar gestures. fire investigators say for the third time in as many months-- someone started a fire at the same vacant house in cedar rapids. crews responded to the latest fire at 15-28 "l" street southwest early this morning. when they arrived, the back of the house and porch were on

have been started at this house in october, november and now this month. no one has lived there since october. also back in october, investigators from the american association of university professors visited iowa city to investigate the integrity of the board of regents decision to hire u-of-i president bruce harreld. harreld himself told the aaup their report on the investigation--released today-- is accurate from his persepective, but the regents continue to defend their process. cbs 2 news reporter marissa scott breaks down the report. report. the a-a-u-p report shows harreld was one of the frontrunners through the entire process.they couldn't pinpoint if the board of regents "picked him" from the beginning, but the report shows the board allowed other qualified canidates to think they would be appointed president.investigators say they found this particular search different than previous presidential searchs at the university.

they were looking for a specific kind of pern, somebody who could bring quote on quote transformative change to the university and whether it was bruce herald from the beginning, it wasn't clear on that." that."however, board of regents released a statement saying "we believe we ran a fair and transparent search process for president at the university of iowa."they were unable to comment further. investigators were *not* able to meet with president harreld, but say, the college and university governance committee will decide if a sanction will be imposed on u-i.the outcome of that decision will *not affect harreld's employment.covering the corridor, in iowa city, marissa scott, cbs 2 news. the city of north liberty is booming.leaders even conducted a new census to keep up with its population increase.now, a developer wants to build a multi million dollar project that's sure to add to the growth. growth.cbs 2 news reporter

the latest proposal and what it means to one of the corridor's fastest growing communities. this area in north liberty is just off the interstate.it's a location city officials hope will easily attract people to this arar. area. the builder behind a proposed north liberty entertainment center is in the business of creating memories and experiences. experiences. everyone is welcome, families could come and collaborate and enjoy an outstanding day or evening.there would be plenty of room for that.right now the center is planned at 37,000 square feet with 250 employees. employees. we really wanted to wow the area and the people and really create something grandiose and something that was really exciting and different.20 lanes of bowling, laser tag, an arcade and sports bar are all in the plans.coralville's city administrator says the city is in the middle planning their 7,000 seat arena in the river landing.he says projects like these would make this area an

a $10 million senior living development in downtown cedar rapids.twg development is seeking state tax credits to build the 60-unit complex next to its kingston village project. that opened just across diagonal drive on wednesday.the four-story facility will have surface parking and standard amenities, according to developers. a decision on the tax credits, and by extension the development's future, will be made in march finally tonight, mount mercy is gearing up to host its annual market at the mount. more than 30 local vendors will climb the hill on saturday to sell crafts, food and art. shoppers will be able to find products ranging from handmade jewelry to homemade cupcakes.the university will also host a business competition following the market, giving vendors a chance to pitch their businesses and earn funding for a website courtesy of godaddy.market at the mount is scheduled to run from 8 a.m.-
