gunfirethat's when cedar rapids police officers jeremy depies and brandon tinta shot orth three times - after he rapidly accelerated towards them when trying to get away. away.what ended in gunfire all started when police spotted orth speeding and running red lights throughout cedar rapids - down first avenue near coe college.he goes the wrong way - when police stopped the chase. chase.but the sirens go on again - when police find orth in this alley between centerpoint road and daniels street.after theheofficics shot orth - they held him down to control him. him. but orth walked free for more than three months - before linn county attorney jerry vandersanden obtained the iowa dci's report.that's when he charged orth with five counts - assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, owi and two counts of eluding.vandersanden cleared
