now creating obstacles for children enrolled in the hawk-i program. program.37-thousand iowa children are enrolled and they'll have to find new insurance by january first.the state terminated contracts for two of the companies that run the hawk-i program, thinking the medicaid changes would be implemented by the first of the year.last week, the federal government rejected that date, saying iowa wasn't ready.wellmark declined to extend its hawk-i contract which leaves nearly 75-percent of hawk-i children uninsured. right now, the medicaid changes are due to take effect march first. meanwhile, new information tonight on the number of iowans signing up for health coverage through healthcare dot gov. gov.more than 48-thousand iowans are now enrolled through the system. system.they're among the eight- point-two million americans who will have coverage starting january first. first.in 20-15, less than nine- percent of americans still had no health coverage.that's nearly half the number of uninsured before the affordable care act took

cbs 2 news is learning new details about the american soldiers killed in this week's suicide attack in afghanistan. afghanistan.in all, six u-s armed forces members died in the attack near bagram air base. base.among them, sergeant joseph lemm, a new york police veteran who leaves behind a wife and two children. according to the dubuque telegraph herald, lemm spent time as a child living in bernard, near dubuque. dubuque.also killed in the attack, air force major adrianna vorderbruggen.she led protests before the pentagon lifted its "don't ask don't tell" policy that barred openly gay americans from serving. at least one pereson is dead tonight after militants with the al-shabaab terror group ambushed a bus in kenya.dozens of others were saved -- when a group of muslims on the bus shielded christian's on the bus.witnesses say the muslims gave the others headscarves so they wouldn't be singled out and killed. france is stepping up security
