tomorrowa& new at noon, noon,just moments ago, president obama made addressed the nation outlining his plans for controling gun violence. one of the things he wants to do is use technology to improve safety.here's craig boswell with the very latest. latest. president obama says he won't wait for congress to take action on gun control. control."every single year more than 30-thousand americans have their lives cut short by guns."the president's 10-point plan includes:- requiring dealers who sell firearms on the internet and at gun shows to be licensed and conduct background checks. - changing a federal privacy rule to help keep people with mental health restrictions from possessing guns.- asking congress to approve funding for an additional 200 agents and investigators at the

presidential candidates are responding to the president's remarks.i've been following their twitter pages since the president finished his address to see what they had to say. first on the democratic side, hilary clinton said : "@potus is right: we can protect the second amendment while protecting our families and communities from gun violence. and we have to." in another tweet she also thanked him for taking this step and said the next president has to build on that progress.bernie sanders tweeted: "republicans are clearly more loyal to gun lobbyists than our children. i support @potus's executive actions to make our communities safer."martin o'malley said the president was right to take executive action and gave a link for 7 actions he would take if he were president.on the republican side, jeb bush tweeted: "read my op-ed in @gazettedotcom today: pres. obama's executive orders trample on the 2nd amendment." carly fiorina said: "another lawless, unconstitutional

the news of such a young life lost is taking a toll on the city of solon.last night more than a hundred students and staff from solon gathered to remember their friend and fellow student.they held a candlelight vigil at solon high school to show support and love for his family.tanner was a senior who planned to study medicine in college.his teammates, friends -- even the superintendent -- say he was a great role model and friend to everyone. take a look at take a look at this - - a united airlines boeing 7-37 slid off the runway in spokane, washington earlier this morning.as you can see, pretty snowy and icy there.all of the passengers on board walked off the plane.in fact, it was so icy that emergency vehicles couldn't even get to the plane.crews are now working to get the plane back on solid ground.in the meantime the airport remains closed. back here closer to home, we're looking at another bright sunny day, and it sure is warming up. up.justin roberts is here with

coined the term "affluenza" in their defense -- the basically argued that he couldn't tell right from wrong because his wealthy parents never punished him. new york state wants to help some recent college graduates with their student loans.the state has launched a loan forgiveness program called "get on your feet".the program would pay up to two years of student loan bills for those struggling to pay down their debt.to be eligible, you must live in new york state, earn less than 50-thousand dollars a year ...and have graduated after december 20-14 from a college or university in the state. call it a car jacking for a car salesman.that's what happened to a car salesman in houston who was kidnapped at gunpoint during a test drive. two men arrived at the dealership to test drive the car.once they were out on the road, they stopped the car, pulled out a gun and shoved the salesman into the trunk, according to police.and what happened next, was just like a scene out of a movie:

using the emergency latch. the two suspects got out, tried to put him in the trunk, he didn't feel like he wanted to go back in the trunk, got in a fight with them, was able to get the pistol away from one of the suspects and shoot one of the suspects." suspects."the suspects took off and left the car salesman behind - he was found walking along the freeway.police were able to use the salesman's cellphone - which he'd left behind - to track the stolen car.this led to a car chase ... but after they wrecked the vehicle, they escaped on foot. police are still looking for the two men.
