police.the f fst was around 7-30 on fifth avenue southeast--that sent *one man to the hospital.then around 1:30, *two people went to the hospital after a shoong on a avenue northeast.about a half- hour later - a person was shot on maplewood drive northeast. right now, no names have been released, and police say they don't have anybody in custody. they also don't know if any of the shootings are connected. *all of the victims, are expected to be o-k. this could be one of the last weekds families will spend time at the cedar rapids public library. library.the e ard of trustees - says something has to go - and that means - closing the doors - on days like this.. this..cbs 2 news reporter - steffi - lee - is in the newsroom - to explain.steffi. matt and joy - if city council passes the library's proposed budget - they will have to cut nearly half a million dollars worth of services. services.they have to make these cuts because voters decided not to pass a tax to fund what ththliliary offers right now.the downtown branch

"as backup units arrived the officers engaged in a gunfight, during which police officer stewart was struck in the right ankle. he returned gunfire, striking the suspect four times." times."officer stewart - will recover - he's in stable condition .today is his fourth anniversary - with - n-y-p-d.no word on what sparked the fight. meanwhile, the man accused of shooting a *philadelphia officer-- in the name of *islam --was in court this morning. 31-year-old edward archer is now charged with attempted murder and agravated assault. police say thursday night, archer walked up to officer jesse hartnett's patrol car, and fired at least a dozen shots at the policeman. officer hartnett was seriously injured--but managed to get out of his car and return fire.this morning, archer appeared for an arraignment, and a judge denied bail. donald trump - continues to lead the polls - for the

democratic candidate - who doesn't agree with his efforts - on gun control. you might know her from the hit h-b-o series, girls--lena dunham was on the campaign trail for hillary clinton today. today.she attended an event at java house in iowa city. clinton wasn't there - - she's campaigning in new hampshire. dunham says clinton is a fighter for women and has a plan to create an economy that works for everyone.the actress believes those plans will make a big fference for everyone from single mothers to working families to college students.
