now a cbs 2 news follow up, up,linn county attorney gerry vander sanden has released more details on the officer- involved shooting death of jonathan gossman last october. october.his new report reveals gossman had a loaded handgun and pointed the weapon at two officers who were chasing him after a traffic stop. those officers brandon boesenberg and bryson garringer fired more than a dozen shots at gossman, who died at the scene. vander sanden says there is clear evidence that gossman was actively involved in selling meth and he does not intend to charge the

today.governor branstad was on hand for the address, which reveals how the judicial branch is moving forward in several different areas.some of the key issues cady addressed were protecting iowa's children and families, ending racial disparitiy in the justice system, and operating with more transparency.but cady also spoke about human trafficking in the state - calling it an issue iowans can no longer see as just a major city problem. it exists as a dark underworld in many communities across iowa and is associated with some of iowa's most iconic places and events. there is no justice when children are abused and exploited. cady said iowa needs a prompt and comprehensive effort to identify victims of sex trafficking in iowa so the state can provide services victims need. iowa voters have been seeing presidential candidates since april -- just five months after they went to the polls

tomorrow morning on cbs 2. right now clear skies over cedar rapidsthere were some high clouds outside earlier today.high temperatures were warm across the state but they'll be even warmer tomorrow in the 40s and 50s across portions of the midwest. so we have a january thaw, highs on thursday from 35 to 45, then frigid air returns this weekend.temperatures today were above average and warmer than this weekend.a few clouds out west with msotly clear skies over iowa. temperatures are falling now into the low 20s.there is some colder air on the way though as the jet stream takes another dive this weekend and acrtic air surges in.wind chill values fall below zero once again and could go even lower than this past weekend, some readings at negative 40 or lower.there could be some snow/ flurries when this system moves through but accumulations will be quite low.tonight temperatures in low 20s, tomorrow highs near 40.your 7 day forecast showing
