a cedar rapids police officer was injured this morning while responding to a car crash. crash.just before 6 this morning, the officer was on the way to the five-vehicle wreck on edgewood road, south of highway 30.that's when their squad car collided with a jeep on the edgewood bridge. the officer who was hurt was taken to the hospital, but should be okay.another officer in the patrol car was not hurt, nor was anyone else in the other vehicles.they're still trying to figure out what happened but they think icy roads played a role. 23:47:44well anytime the temperatures hovering around freezing you just assume the roads are going to be slick and icy so slow down. give yourself enough room in front of the other vehicle so you don't run in the back of them.. them.right now the roads are back open, but earlier this morning edgewood road near 60th ave south-west all the way the eastern iowa airport was shut down. two cedar rapids police officers will *not face charges for killing a suspect
