the president finished a two- city tour to ll his state of the union speech from earlier in the week. week.he made two stops thursday, one in omaha, nebraska, and the other in baton rouge, louisiana.the president spoke about the economy, criminal justice reform and finding a cure for cancer, all issues he brought up in his speech on tuesday.by the way, according to nielsen data, that speech received the lowest t-v rating for a state of the union speech, the past 15 years.but the numbers do *not include those who streamed it online. in iowa -- governor terry branstad and lieutenant governor kim reynolds are trying to sell their plan for the state of iowa. iowa.cbs 2 news caught up with the lieutenant governor when she visited cedar rapids yesterday .she defended the governor's plan to increase edation spending by more than two percent.critics say that's barely half o owhat's needed.reynolds is saying that's simply all the state can afford. overseas -- three men are incustody after violence in indonesia. indonesia.police say the suspects are linked to yesterday's attacks in the capital city of jakarta. jakarta.authorities raidied the suspects home in the city. five attackers were killed. they set off bombs and got into a fire-ght with police. two civilians were killed. indonesian officials say the group of attackers was funded by isis. authorities in turkey are stepping up security in istanbul and also laununing attacks against isis along the syrian-turkish border.it's in retaliation for a suicide attack that killed 10 german tourists earlier this week.the turkish prime minister is claiming 20000extremists have been killed in the past 48 hours.so far -- no group has claimed responsibility for the attack in istanbul -- but officials from turkey say the bomber had ties to the terror group. the almost spring-like temperatures thursday are not here for good.. good..and city workers here in the corridor took it as an opportunity to clean up streets before the next freeze this weekend.
