their jobs to demand 15-dollar an hour wages. and all three democratic candidates are making a final push in the state too. too.hillary clinton campaigned in newton thursday, while former president bill clinton stumped for his wife at wartburg college in waverly. the entire clinton family will be making several stops in the state throughout the weekend. and that includes a stop in dubuque this afternoon. clinton's closet rival, vermont senator bernie sanders launched a volunteer canvas in ottumwa.he also rallied with actress susan sarandon in fairfield.sanders is scheduled to stump in cedar rapids, iowa city and waterloo this weekend. maryland governor martin o'malley is beginning his caucus weekend tour in sioux city today. he will head to the corridor sunday with a door-knocking event in cedar rapids. despite heavy campaigning across the state o'malley remains a distant third in the polls. cbs 2 news is tracking a police investigation into a shooting in cedar rapids. rapids.officers were called to a home near 15-th street and

afternoon.we do know that one person was shot, but we do not know their name or condition this morning.not many other details have been released so far.our crew on the scene did see two people being escorted from the area by police, and also saw a k-9 unit and police in tactical gear.authorities have not said whether anyone has been charged in the shooting. a waterloo man is now facing life in prison. prison.martez smith has been found guilty of first degree murder in the stabbing death of "marq" norman.the slaying happened in november of 20-14 outside of the home smith shared with norman's sister. prosecutors say smith stabbed norman who intervened after smith pushed his sister.a sentencing will take place at a later date. several *johnson county law enforcement leaders are exploring *options for forcriminals other than time behind bars.they traveled to san antonio texas to learn new techniques. techniques.instead of a traditional police response in many cases, officers there are

happening right now.. now..some protesters are continuing the standoff at a federal wild-life refuge in oregon..f-b-i officials confirmed that they believe at least four people remained on site. site.that's even after the leader of the group, ammon bundy was arrested with 8 others back on wednesday and the spokesman, lavoy finicum was shot and killed by federal agents.yesterday an additional person left the refuge and surrendered to authorities.the f-b-i says a total of nine protesters have left the site; six were released and three were arrested. meanwhile, for the very first time, we are getting a look at the deadly shooting between betweensome of the armed militia members and federal officials.lavoy finicum was driving the white truck you see here in the video. the f-b-i set up a road block, and finicum nearly ran over a federal agent while swerving
