hillary client b barely on top to bernie sanders. martin o'malley has suspended his campaign. now in the republican race, ted cruz has been declared the winner tonight over donald trump. and a pretty strong showing by marco rubio with 22%. mike huckabee haseneded his bid tonight. he won the iowa caucus in 2008, but no luck for him tonight. we'll skrol results at the bottom of your screen throughout the newscast and on our website. that massive winter storm.

>> as we take a look at our radar, the storms continue. that means more mild air gets into eastern iowa and after a start with snow in the morning, we'll change over the rain in a lot of spots during the afternoon except the far northern and western counties. snow will stay tomorrow evening. up mere the minnesota border, there could be up to 10 inches of snow. the two inch line close to cedar rapids. that could go up or down an inch or so. one thing's for sure. the further south and oois you go, the lower the snow totals will be. we do have winter storm warnings. this is highway 20 on to the north. a blizzard warning in north

(no audio) tonight in an absolutely packed house housemore than 150 supporters came out this was from two precincts here in the anamosa area.that's 50 more voters than in an average caucus year. in the end, bernie sanders was exactly right, when he said turnout would make or break his campaign.the final numbers, hillary 75, bernie 74. most of the sanders supporters were not 20 somethings.katie thomas says he understands the challenges she faces. . >> as a young person, student loans and all of that are just a big issue. i had to quit college because i couldn't afford it. i think that a lot of other

storm system right up into south eastern iowa. the worst of this storm will occur in the northern and western counties. as you go further southeast into eastern iowa, there will be warmer air and a lot less snow. maybe more rain than snow. you can see the radars are are becoming more active. it's just beginning to tap the gulf. it'll quickly move across the area tonight and especially during the day tomorrow. it looks a little messy around eastern iowa. with the storm track, that means cold air is going to be limited in this part of the state. as a result of that, snow in our southern and eastern counties may amount to the 1 to 2 inches.

to 6 inches. further up near the minnesota border, perhaps as much as 10 inches. with the track of the storm through eastern iowa, this is where we'll see a lot more snow up that way. we also have winter weather advisories out. especially along and north of highway 20. blizzard warnings in north enthrall iowa. a lot more wind and heavier snows to deal with there. in south eastern iowa, no advisories at all. but on the radar tonight, we're starting to see a little bit of snow tonight. it's staying pretty much in the clouds. it will take a while. so late tonight and early tomorrow morning will most of the snow start to reach the

the process is underway. we'll have a snowy period tomorrow morning. not too much happening around 5 a.m. but at 9 o'clock in the morning, snow falling across all of eastern iowa. the storm lifts north ward and we should see a transition to rain across the southeast. we'll get dry slotted. that won't be the case in the north and northwest where it will be snow. much heavier snow across the northern and northwestern counties. we're expected to stay in the 20s and 30s. the precipitation will surge across the area tomorrow and bring the worst conditions early in the day.

temperatures upper 20s to lower 30s with snow by morning. snow early in the day then changes to rain across the southeast and comes to an end in the afternoon. snow will continue during the day up in our northern and northwestern counties. that's the area where 6 or more inches of snow will be a possibility. we're staying cold for wednesday and thursday. the weekend will bring sunshine with highs into the middle 30s. definitely the worst of it in the north and west, guys. area road crews are gearing up as well. joe. >> reporter: scott and karen, even though the storm isn't expected until the earn morning,

they say crews have been out putting down salt on major roads, brings, and intersections. crews will be out all night and once the snow fall starts, they will switch over to clearing those roads and it's important to give them space to work. >> we ask that people give them plenty of room to do their job. conditions can change very quickly. rain can quickly become ice or even snow. >> reporter: the busiest time will be tomorrow morning and apparent victory tonight in iowa.
