former district attorney bruce caster to testify. he said he had a verbal promise with cosby's former attorney in 2005 to not prosecute te comedian in the constand case. hoping to s sip him of hisis fifth amendment rights to not incriminate himself. then he would be forced to answer questions in a deposition for a civil case. on wednesday cotand's attorneyy said she wasn't aware of that deal. she criticized castor's decades' old decision saying he was not going to alienate fans of dr. huxtablele referencing the character he played on the popular 1980s sitcom. the current district attorney questioned the agreement's credibilitit a secret agreement that permits a wealthy defendant to buy his way out of a criminal case isn't right, he said. another defended the deal saying what we're talking about here is honoring a commitment.
