hampshire primary but clinton is getting a boost today from the congressional black caucus who is expected to endorse he tonight's debate in milwaukee is hosted by pbs and starts at 8:00. it won't just be candidates and voters at tonight's democratic debate. fast food workers will be there wage. organizers expect more than 1000 demonstrators to turn out. sanders supports the $15 an hour a and clinton backs a $12 wage. now minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. there are new developments with the medicaid saga at the iowa capital within the past hour. senate lawmakers passed a bill keeping medicaid in the state's hands. the legislation is largely symbolic as leaders in republican controlled house promised to reject it. iowa's medicaid program is scheduled to become privately run starting march 1. in the iowa senate, a

that forces drivers to move over for bicycles. undedelegislation motorists have to wait until it is safe to pass before moving into an adjacent lane. it recognizes paved shoulders as travel lanes if used by by cyclists. state treasurer is proposing retirement savings legislation. fitzgerald claims iowa is facing a retirement crisis and wants to remedy it. this would provide retirement savings options for small businesses that don't have retirement plans. employers would not have to contribute. instead of contributions would come from automatic payroll deductions. big changes on the way in local politics. a state representative from the court is tiring and a mayor wants to fill h h seat. the representative announced she will not be running for reelection ending 21 years of service in iowa house.

with her family and travel. the north liberty mayor says she's running for the seat representing iowa's 77th district. she's been mayor since 2014. district 77 represents north sweirt, swisher and shoe evil. investors on wall street are trying to rebound after another start to the day. already today the dow lost nearly 350 points. the problem started before opening bell when sweden announced plane crashed than to push interest rates deeper into negative territory leading to concerns in new york. the nasdaq and s&p 500 are trying to dig out of losses from the start of the day. a report says the corridor community has one of the top unemployment rates in the country. forbes.com placed iowa city 5 5th on the list for metro areas with low emploloent. under the national average.but

the state department may release some of hillary clinton's emails this weekend. weekend.officials offered to release the e-mails after a federal judge criticized them tuesday for delaying the release.the state department was supposed to release all of the e-mails last month, but it asked for an extension.under the new plan, 550 of the 37- hundred unreleased e-mails will come saturday. right now at the nation's capitol, capitol,senate lawmakers are discussing president obama's funding proposal to fight the zika virus. virus.both the director for the c-d-c and the director of the national institute of allergy and infectious diseases have already testified about how funding would be used to create a vaccine for the virus. president obama wants to give researchers one-point-eight billion dollars to fast-track that process. also in the senate - house lawmakers have okayed a bill responding to the flint water

how do we stretch this out? what is our first step? >> the first and most important step is to have a plan. you need to know exactly where you are, what you need, where you want to go. whether that's with a financial advisor or yourself on are some financial professional, kind of just determining when you want to retire and then through retirement with your lifestyle, how you want to live. >> very smart. so there is a myth when it comes to fees and funds and things like that. let's go through this myth. the top performing fund or etfs have the highest fees. >> exactly. a lot of people think the top performing funds, etfs, are the ones to go through. if you dig deeper, whether you or your financial professional, you will see that those companies are charging more than some that offer a similar return or ckage. okay.

>> over the long run, compounding interest, that half a percent more that the company years. that can end up a very large amount of money that you are have had. >> let's talk about living on less. what the do you mean when you say live on less? >> you want to budget and figure out where your income sources are. it might be social security for you and a spouse. it might be a pension. then you have a nest egg. a lot of people get themselves in a position that they want to live beyond their income sources so they use more of percent. if they're having to take 8, 9, 10% out of their portfolio to maintain their lifestyle, odds are that portfolio will expire before they do. they're going to run out of money. a typical rule of thumb is about 4% or less.

weather. take a look at this squirrel. not only does he appear to welcome back. take a look at this squirrel. not only does he look like he has a mohawk but he is climbing all over this guy like he is his personal tree. he is so excited because this man is his best friend. he has raised him from a baby. the squirrel fell out of a tree when he was the size of a shoe lace the man says. this is in poland. he nursed the squirrel back to health. he has tried to let the squirrel free but the squirrel doesn't want to leave. he is stuck with the squirrel with the mohawk. isn't he cute? so happy. looks like you when you don't have enough coffee. >> that's what i look like everydyd. there is the satellite and radar. we will see clouds sneak in as the day turns into the night. look for light snow, less than an inch expected.
