allegations since the firing of their coach.if discrimination is found the case could result in a settlement. settlement.the department is looking into 13 specific areas and we've placed that information on our website, cbs 2 iowa dot com. new tonight - students at a washington county school are mourning the loss of a classmate. mid-prairie superintendent mark schneider tells cbs 2 news, the school was locked down yesterday because a ststent was reported missing. just before 3 in the afternoon, law enforcement officials notified the school saying they'd fou the body of nate hawbaker. councellors were at the school today and will be available through next week as needed. schneider says his heart and prayers go out to the family. cbs 2 news is learning new prayers go out to the family. cbs2 news is learning new

aren't all that haha plummeted. standup 19:04:08 the crisis center says in the months of october through january they receive 30,000 pounds of food month in donations, but in the months between february and april that drops to 10,000. sara sedlacek, communications and dwveloent director18:53:49 were also seeing a significant drop in financial donations, so in december we raised over $225,000 whereas you know here we are halfway through february and were at about 11 or 12 thousand.the crisis center has the largest food bank in johnson county serving around a thousand familieses week.sedlacek says the need to help with things such as food, heating bills and suicide prevention hasn't decreased, but their resources have. 18:57:38 people generally think there's more need around the holidays and that's when financial gifts increase and that's when people like to do food drives and things like that, but those food drives are so important a year round.the crisis center says donations provide an important variety to their clients.chris sample, crisis center client

on cbs 2 thihimorning, we'll catch you up to speed on all the awards up for grabs and special performances welcome back. frigid temperatures expected tonight and windchill advisories posted for much of eastern iowa. they started started in our north western counties at 6:00. further to the south and east they began at 9 and they last until saturday morning and they could be extended throughout the day if the winds stay elevated. but windchills could get to dangerous levels. 20-30 below. i say dangerous because if you're outdoors frostbite can begin to pet in. if your outdoors, limit our timemeoutside. temperaturesesre falling and they have been for several hours. 7 in decorah. 15 in iowa city. everyone is going to be below the 0 mark for tonight.

they have been elevated all day. 15-20 miles an hour sustained. gusts could be up to 30 miles an hour. that's leading to these dangerous windchills. and windchills are already falling. these numbers are continuing to change and continuing to go down. 12 below in charles city. 3 below in washington. and all of these numbers are going to get close to 20 below 0. you can see it here. as we put it into motion. these values continue to drop. 7:00 in the morning tomorrow. if you go out early saturday, you may want to keep it inside for a few more hos. it cld be 20 below for the feels like temperature in cedar rapids. 30 below in decorah. and it stays like that in the morning. sunday morning, not quite as bad but we could have another

so we talked about the bitter windchills. next, the chance for snow. and the likely chance as we have another system heading our way. and we have a real warm up ahead. you'll see it in my extended forecast. for tonight and for tomorrow, we'll stay clear in terms of our skies. but another system is starting to develop further to the north in canada that will be headed our way later on tomorrow night. so as early as midnight saturday. some snow starts to enter the area. and it'll continue to move through which could lead to snow for much of the day for valentine's day on sunday. snow starting to move in saturday night, through sunday and it could continue all day long. a steady, sort of light snow. and it will be very fluffy snow as well. so it could cause some troubles on the road. if you want to just check the road conditions you can get them on cbs2iowa.com if you're thinking of going out to dinner

these are continuing to change. the red line they're going g upup to now 8 inines of snow. really, my focus is 2-4 inches here in cedar rapids. and really across eastern iowa is my real thinking for right now. but t ese numbers are continuing to change and we could still have locally higher amounts depending on where the heaviest snow sets up. for tonight, ttperatures below 0 across the area. windchills once again, 20-30 below. windchill advisories in effect until tomorrow morning. we'll pee some improvements tomorrow afternoon. temperaturesesre going struggle to increase. even though they're going to be plenty of sunshine. high temperatures in the single digits into the south and into the teens. there's some good news. there's a light at end of the tunnel. after we get through the storm system. a good chance of snow, really likely chance saturday night into sunday. and temperatures start to warm up. monday, tuesday, near freezing.
