they sayaythe location in the middle of larger midwest cities makes eastern iowa a frequent stop for victims and those responsible. a local group is working so hard to help those whose lives are turned upside down by this. clothes and shelter. >> it's like spring. >> just a national tragedy when it happens to them. we are warming up. it's part of our headlines this afternoon, cloudy skies. we'll find warming temperatures in upper 20s to lower 3 and we'll find some snow as we head through that weather first forecast. hour by hour, this afternoon, mainly cloudy sky, upper 20s into the evening. there is a live look in iowa city where things are 25 with winds southeast at six. it does make it feel like 18 out therer a little breeze, a little wind chill but temps are warming. 25 cedar rapids, monticello, 27 waterloo, 30 in tama, 37 sioux falls. the warmer weather will move iowa's way. we have upper 30s around cincinnati, indianapolis, low 30s in chicago. everybody is heading in the

to temperatures. mid western temperature is seeing moisture around missouri, showers and thunderstorms to the tennessee valley. in our neck of the woods we are just waiting. our next area of low pressure is to the north and west. it will move through iowa. . as it doesesit brings a warm front. there is moisture expected this evening into the overnight. we'll see showers inwestern iowa but as it gets to our neck of the woods it looks to be primarily snow. there can be a rain and snow mix in southern parts of the state but for us it looks to be primarily a snow event. around an inch is what we are looking at. about an inch is expected. there are the clouds for the afternoon, clouds for the evening time tonight. we start to see the moisture around midnight in far northeast iowa, 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning, snow, little rain- snow mix in tama and down to the south. this will be for the drive to school and work tomorrow. the moisture stays with us until about midday tomorrow.

we will see how it gas prices continue to fall. and while that has many americans celebrating some industries are welcome back. gas prices continue to fall and that has americans celebrating but satisfy industries are getting hit hard including the recycleing business. >> reporter: low oil prices have led to savings at the gas pump. >> i am thrilled. >> nice when i can fill up under $20. >> reporter: what's good news for american drivers is bad news for recycling centers. >> all recycling is impacted by low energy cost, plastic in particular because of course plastic is made from oil.

plastic makers are finding it cheaper to make new plastic from oil instead of recyclables. >> we have to sell it for less. >> reporter: the general manager of sims municipal recycling in brooklyn new york which handles 18,000 tons of recyclables a month. it's hard to find pltic buyers now especially for low w grade itememlike plastic bags. >> what happens if you can't find a market. >> we will send them to a landfill. >> reporter: the price drop is costing recycling centers billions but he says everyone should keep recycling. >> environmentally it is better. in the long term economically it is tter. >> reporter: oil prices will eventually go o uuand when they do, so will the value of recyclables. >> pedestrians on san francisco's golden gate bridge were attackekewith blow darts
